Yes indeed and I will have this Executive arriving soon to upgrade the one I have :)

Now do I also get the President he has as well?

I'll give you list price for the executive.

How much would that work out to in today's money?

I'll answer my own question... about $40 apparently.

Tell you what, I'll give you list price including inflation?

RATS - i should have offered that ...

Seriously.....I think someone here needs to get Mark on ABC's Collectors. Drum us up some good PR!

LOL - haven't you heard the news in Coffs (?)

The show has been canned and the former presenter is in the can on child porn charges!

Seriously though I had thought of trying to get on before it was canned to get some publicity and hopefully stop old razors getting chucked in the bin

Ah didn't know they hadn't run with it for another season.....I assume this was due to the Murihead stain, but as they finished out last season without him (an IMHO did a better job as he added little to the show) I thought they'd have continued on with it. I've noted Gordon's new The Auction Room one - very so-so. Shame they cut Collectors as it was a good show and you'd think it' could have dusted itself off ok.

Hmmmm frustrating - my polished SS Weber razor was dispatched from USPS's Chicago Intl Post facility (last tracked event) on 22NOV12, and as of today's post still hasn't shown up. No further events in USPS's tracking and nothing at all on Aust Post's one.

Generally I've found items from the USA always arrived in around or under 10 working days. It's not exactly massively over this now at 13+ but a bit of a 'Hmmmm' moment.

Sorry but USPS is very ordinary - this puts them around on par or even a tad slower than much cheaper items I've had sent to me recently from China!

PS. Whenever I picture USPS employees I imagine a whole bunch of Newman's (Seinfeld character) lazily doing 3/5's of SFA and helping themselves to the mail like they're at a the local fete's Lucky Dip stand!

Ha, so you are a Seinfeld fan also?. I already had a good opinion of you Nick but it just got better

Shaving-wise, I've got (another) red tip SS to restore. Damn I love these things, probably one of my favourite vintage Gillettes and not usually too expensive either (this one was $18 posted). This time, I will try extra hard to get the red on the TTO knob in one piece (previous ones I've restored already had paint missing, so I didn't worry too much and wasn't careful around the painted areas- turns out it doesn't take much to remove it).

Not shaving related, but I finally spent the money and got myself a good hat that will hopefully last a long time. Initially planned on purchasing an Akubra...until I saw the price :eek:mg: Ended up with a very nice
Barma Bronco full grain foldable for almost a third of the price of an Akubra. Made in Australia, from Australian leather- sounds good to me

I used to be nuts about them but now when I watch them again the humour doesn't quite resonate as it used to - they come across as trying too hard, forcing gags etc. But hey it was a classic show. I've got the lot of them in really nice x264 encoding material too if you want them when we catch up. :)

Yes, Red Tips are nice and $18 posted is a NICE price for one, well done. Look forward to seeing how it comes up - if any of your other efforts are indicative it'll look a treat.

That hat does look like it'd fit in out Tahmoor way. You know you have to wear it to the Pancake place now so I know who you are! :cheesy:

Thanks for the offer, but I've really got all the episodes :)

Actually started on the red tip last night. Just needs a little more polish and it will be done. It isn't perfect- some pitting on the 'hanger doors' but overall its a nice example.

Haha, the hat is only for when I'm doing outdoors type stuff like mowing the lawn or bushwalking. Wearing it in the western suburbs would be...a very bold fashion choice.

I normally give two weeks from the US but tracking is useless. Never seen anything beyond their borders from memory.

So you won't be wearing it to Blacktown Shopping Centre?

Ah well the Weber Polished SS 3-piece razor arrived!!!!

Really nicely packed.....first impression was HEFTY, makes the Merkur 37c feel like a cheap dimestore trinket! The knurling on the handle is fantastic...far more aggressive than anything else I have and it's a really significant and aggressive little thing in terms of it's compact chunkiness.....naing it the Bulldog handle is very appropriate.

The quality of finish on it is excellent - I'd read a lot of people bitching about having minor blemishes and scratches on theirs and this is really just shows their ignorance to the challenges of polishing quality stainless steel vs Nickel plating! I swear these people have seen the finish on Edwin Jagger razors etc and think that Stainless steel should be the same finish! Completely different....so yes in a few VERY MINOR spots they could have polished a tiny bit more but honestly you'd have to be a clown to have issues with this. The finish on the head is superb and the way they've varied the finish in different sections of the razor from highly polished to a rough matte surface looks great.

I'm a bit OCD so I gave it a complete once over with a high quality automotive polymer wax - just as an extra layer of protection. Will try and use it later today.

Honestly, when you see it and then realise that it's ~$70, you'll be kicking yourself that you didn't get one......its an amazing bit of quality engineering for such a very low amount (iKon, Feather SS's are 2.5-3x this in price!).

Interestingly I sent an email to Ed Weber, the owner yesterday just saying it hadn't arrived and he stated that they'd sent "quite a lot" of them to Australians....so perhaps there's another few Weber owners lurking out there!

Fabulous looking razor anyway....I'd pop pix up but honestly it looks IDENTICAL to the pix I posted earlier in the NOV thread &/or the Weber thread in the 'razors' section plus I'd not be able to take as nicely as these. Will bring to SYD for folks to inspect. :)

Bought these for about $13 in the army surplus market today. Sorry if the image is huge, I'm on my phone. The right one is a Schick Krona in okay condition, I'm not sure what the Gillette adjustable is. They look gold in the picture but that's the dodgy lighting, they're both silver. Little bit of plate loss on the Gillette, but it'll clean up okay I think. Can anyone ID it for me? Is it a Fatty?

One more pic:

Saw a couple of real shitty straights and shavettes, but I ran out of coin. Not a bad way to finish my time in Vietnam though, tomorrow to Cambodia for three days.
