Picked up at Alenka and Sam's Shave Shack closing down sale. Everything I've read to date has given me the expectation that anything new (straight razors) doesn't come shave ready. I put the edge under the scope and was pleasantly surprised (compared to new Dovo edges I've seen). I wouldn't say perfect but I'm willing to give it a go. Guess what I'm shaving with tomorrow.
Spoke too soon, zoomed out with the scope and confirmed what I thought I could see by eye. The edge isn't quite straight, there's a bit of a hump towards the heel. Probably won't affect the shave tomorrow (unless it's not as sharp as appears) but will need to be rehoned to straighten up at some stage. As I've said in previous posts, I've seen something like this before in a Dovo blade. Thought quality control would be better these days. I thought TI quality control issues were supposed to be confined to aesthetic/scale finish issues. Anyway.. looks manageable so we'll see how it goes.

Nice overseas mail call day. I now have a good condition birth English Gillette Tech (U4), two packs of Irish NOS blades I've never heard of before AND 4 bottles of that amazingly popular cola scented Florida Water to try. It made sense money wise to get 4 rather than one. Unless I fall in love with it, there's a very good chance that 2 or 3 bottles will be available BST.
