Test face lathering MWF with Thater 4125/3 2 band.
This was my second attempt at lathering MWF with the Thater. The brush is huge and, like the Chubby 2, needs to be loaded for a long time. Like the Chubby 2 it also holds a lot of water so you really need to squeeze it out to get control of the lather.
Creating a lather with this brush takes a little practise. The first attempt had too much water too quickly. It was an airy lather that I wouldn't want to shave with. This one took a while to build as I was adding water very slowly. However, I could face lather with this brush all day.

BTW - it just goes to show what I've learnt from this thread. Beforehand, I may have been tempted to shave with the airy lather. Now I know that glossy, rich lather is possible with MWF. I also know what it takes to get there. Thanks @alfredus et al.

For all you synthetic users: yesterday I talked a bit with @bald as and I certainly agree on this observations:

when you use a synth and get the perfect looking shiny lather - does it feel/behave the same as the same shiny lather that you got with a natural hair brush?

Yes... (in short)... retains moisture just as well as the badger, just maybe not heat as much (but in Qld I don't need a hot lather tbh)

How do you find the maggards synthetic? I haven't been overly impressed with it.
Quite happy at this stage Have been using it a week. The tips are soft and there is substantial backbone. It can certainly suck up plenty of soap but I like to load heavy. No need to soak the brush and it dries quickly. Is it better than my shavemac or Simpsons? No but it was cheap.

Cool, I'm glad you like it.
