Hi @alfredus , the recipient you use a lot for taking the pictures, that I know is some shaving related thing, what's for? for leaving there the brush while passing the razor? It has two areas, I can imagine that one may be for storing lather? but you don't use this way....
Can you explain it, mate?

It is an old style (but new) German lathering bowl. You press your soap into the shallow area and lather there - the deep area is for water and the whole for your thumb to hold it.

I just use it to soak my brush and for pictures
