Brush: Smog 1305
Soap: Tim's Ghostface Nilla (thanks
@SydBJW )
Razor: Puma 89
Aftershave: Alfredus Post-Shave Method © (feat. Redgum Aftershave (macadamia oil))
Well.....
.....truth be told I really didn't have high hopes for this morning's shave. The Puma came to me raw - no scales and no edge. So this sharp piece of metal I put to my face was wholly honed by my hand. Not only that, but the edge had a small dent that made for interesting toing-and-froing on the stones -
I was on that Chosera 1k for well over 2 hours yesterday! Anyway, I didn't expect much and for 95% of the shave I certainly did not get the shave I deserved, instead I got a surprisingly close and surprisingly smooth result. I suppose even a first year apprentice with the right hammer, a straight nail and soft wood can drive a true join.

This little 89 certainly purrs, it's very audible through each pass - not quite a singer but no wallflower either. The Puma it does also roar. Like I said I got 95% a great shave - but look under my chin across down to the neck and you can see one stroke. Don't now what I did with that specific ATG pass but you can, literally, see a red dotted path that the razor travelled along. Was it pressure? Was it angle? Not sure, but other than that I am very, very happy indeed.
I DID THIS!!!...well except the mining and forging....but I still have a few years left in me I reckon. It's quite a mental buzz to realise how involved you were in your shave.
Thanks again to
@SydBJW for the soap sample. I picked this based on the scent - can't give you a breakdown as this LE release is sold out so not listed anywhere - but it's certainly my profile. Scent was great and first pass lather was exceptional. I might have added a little too much water - as I'm wont to do when using straights - but the lather fizzled and thinned by the second and third (touch-up) rounds.
Finally, the post-shave routine devoted to
@alfredus . Trying to keep a lid on my imbibing of alcohol - seems to irritate my face once it sweats later in the day esp. under the chin/neck - so trying the "Alfredus Post-Shave Method"© - cold water rinse - alum - cold water rinse, witch hazel, oil. First try was EVOO and then Argan, and worked a treat both times. Today I'm trying Macadamia Oil. Hope the "Alfredus Post-Shave Method" is successful in getting that stroke of irritated skin a lighter shade of scarlet.
