Shave of the Day - 2024

This shave was for yesterday (13th). Changed things up with the pearl flexi, didn't get very good results but far less irritation, I think I might put it on hold again for a bit as it makes me not want to shave.
I was in the process of cleaning my razors when a huge storm hit yesterday.

Not everyone can use all of the razors that are out there. A lot depends upon your skin and beard. Remember, YMMV! I tried a slant DE several years ago and that only lasted a few days before it went up for sale. I can shave with a Fatboy on 5. Anything higher than 5 would ruin my whole day. I own a few DE razors that are too aggressive for me and they are "just for looking at" in a display cabinet. My most comfortable shaves nowadays are with a SR but it took awhile to get there and I will admit that in the beginning I donated some blood.

Post 2022 standard Gold Dollar 66, 7/8 half-hollow dutch point, finished and maintained on diamond pasted balsa and re-scales in golden wattle timber scales. The re-scaling greatly improves the balance over the OEM GD66. This razor is also available for loan-out to those how wish to try the gentlemanly art of traditional straight razor shaving.

I get good results with Astra blades and the dial set on 3 or 4

Post/After-shave:- T.N. Dickinson Witch Hazel Astringent mixed into the 240ml bottle with Invite E High Potency Pure Oil (10 drops), Natural Plant Glycerine (20) & Tea Tree Oil Antiseptic (5)
Fragrance:- Hugo Boss (Original)

Occams Crushed Lime Shaving Cream is, IMHO, up there with the very best.
Sadly now unobtainium - I treasure the one container remaining in my den.

Shave Report: As expected there is virtually no scent from the lather. The Standard Razors DE + Shark blade gave an overall awesome mild, smooth DFS with just a couple weepers.
