Pre: Cremo Reserve Collection
Razor: Rockwell 6S (6)
Blade: Gillette Platinum
Brush: The Stray Whisker Synthetic
Soap: Barrister and Mann: The Full Measure of Man
Post: APR Fenchurch/Nivea Balm

I've got back into wet shaving after a hiatus of a few years, especially once Covid hit and I shaved less frequently and did it quickly and conveniently. I got back into it a couple of weeks ago as I wanted to enjoy my shaves again, and have been using basically a mish-mash of the product I had four/five years ago.

This was a great shave. The Rockwell is still the smoothest razor I've ever tried, especially on the neck, though I haven't maintained it the best! This blade was very smooth but maybe a bit on the mild side for this razor - I want to try the GSB next to compare. The artisan soaps are just amazing now that I've got the lather technique right, and I can't see myself going back to the classics.

Shave Report: This Catie’s Bubbles soap has a hard texture and has dried out a bit with age to form a bit of a puck, scent: “Sweet citrus notes of bergamot & watermelon blend into a green heart of basil & geranium on a base of sandalwood, aldehydes, cashmeran, and hedione". As expected lather performance was excellent. Wonderful clean, smooth, close DFS from the 1950 Tech.

One of my girlfriends came up from the coast to visit me for as few days. For dinner this night, she baked a chocolate mud cake and made chicken adabo with rice - a classic Filipino dish.
Happy Birthday, Richard. 🎂

  • Brush Vulfix Pure Badger

The Morning Shave.

Another great opportunity to try different blades from a recent PIF.

I enjoyed the Rapira blade, quite sharp, however very comfortable and effortless. No irritation or drag. 0 nicks.

The blade comes double wrapped, a plain wrapper inside the main envelope wrap for each blade.

The Vulfix Pure badger is a classic brush, great soft feel. Plenty of lather from the Proraso Blue with a mild scent.
