Continuing with Shark Week theme

The Jianyu Stainless Steel blade comes double wrapped. The inner wrapper is a wax wrap advertising Gillette Vector. The outer envelope wrap.
I do like a blade when double wrapped, the Jianyu had some very small glue dots.
These blades are manufactured by Gillette in Shanghai China.

Very smooth comfortable shave, no nicks or irritation.

A BBS was the reward of a light touch.

The Wilkinson Sword Essential is a budget soap, I like the citrus scent, very easy to produce a great lather.

Brut, who doesn’t like the scent, amazingly fresh.

The Jaws Stainless Steel blade comes double wrapped. The inner wax wrap with an outer envelope wrap.

First time using this blade, a light touch delivered a very smooth comfortable shave. No weepers or irritation.


The British Rocket HD 500 is not often seen on SOTD photos.

The Rocket HD is 71g almost identical head to the British Rocket FlareTip.

My experience the Rocket HD has slightly more blade exposure, so a little more aggressive – YMMV

Soap: Arko & Taconic Soap Combo, an Arkp stick mixed with a Taconic Eucalyptus Mint Glycerin puck.

Razor: This is the fourth razor in my series of low priced razors costing AU$20 or less, today’s razor is the King.C.Gillette (KCG), that I picked up for AU$15 on special at my local Supermarket. However, I do find the handle quite heavy (razor: 104gm) and uncomfortable to use so I swapped it for the lighter WCS Bamboo handle (razor: 68gm).

Shave Result: As expected the scent is a Citronella forward with Eucalyptus & Mint aromas, scent strength 7/10. Awesome clean, smooth BGS (Bloody Good Shave) from the KCG and Gillette Platinum blade combination.
