Correction. The razor is dressed in Queensland silver ash timber scales.21 July
Pre-1924 T.R. Cadman "Bengall" 6/8 Spanish point full hollow dressed in golden wattle timber scales.
The last ray of sunshine before this frigid winter reasserted itself...
Pre-shave: Hot flannel, Valobra Glicerlanolina
Brush: TroyCraft "Vazon Forest" 28mm AP G5C
Soap: Yardley
Razor: Wolfman WR4
Blade: Schick Proline
Post-shave: TND witch hazel, homebrew moisturiser, Eau Sauvage EDT @TomG
COTD: Guatemala Huehuetenango SHB
Making a start on a "new" tub of Yardley today. As fresh as such a soap with the Prince of Wales royal warrant on the lid can be, anyway. That would have been Prince Edward, so this soap would presumably date from sometime 1921-1940. Some of these soaps retain their original scent better than others. This one has an overlay redolent of wooden cabinet and ancient furniture polish. Not at all unpleasant, but I'm hoping it becomes more lavenderish as I work my way through the puck. On the flip side, this soap has none of the "crustiness" around the outside of the puck that I have sometimes found.
Nice setup .

I've got 15 Palmolive sticks up for sale, are you interested?Palmolive is a great easy to lather cream, quite a neutral scent.
Thanks for the offer, all good for Palmolive now.I've got 15 Palmolive sticks up for sale, are you interested?
No worriesThanks for the offer, all good for Palmolive now.
I haven’t seen the sticks for years. We had them in the UK when little else was available.
I totally agree with your assessment of the Razorock soap. I bought a shave stick after @rbscebu touted its performance.HSOTD - 22.08.24
Pre-shave:- Hot shower & Pears soap
Brush:- Simpson - Chubby #1
Soap: Razorock - Blue Label
Razor: Leaf
Blade: Gillette - 7 O’clock (yellow)
Moisturiser: Nivea - Original
Another hotel shave…
The Razorock is growing on me. Great size (for travelling). Lathers easily. Slick shave. Lots of residual slickness too.
I was thinking about my initial Razorock impressions and mulling on why I had my reservations. It’s not the soap or the performance, it’s just the scent. It’s so subtle! I want it to be a bit more pronounced. Great bang for the buck though.
