Razor: EK DE89
Blade: Voskhod (2)
Brush: Omega boar
Soap: Sample from Melbourne meet up
Ayer: Alum, Myrsol formula "C", EJ aloe vera balm sample

Shave was nice tonight. Was left feeling dissatisfied last night. Thought I would try some other samples from the meet. Have lost the card that this sample came in, so I'm not sure what it is. It's a shame because I liked the scent, however I think it may have reacted with my face. So unfortunately I've been left feeling dissatisfied once again. Not that the results of the shave aren't good, my face just feels a little irritated. Oh and the EJ balm is terrible. It felt more like a wax, leaving what felt like a second skin on my face. Will leave shaving alone until Wednesday morning I think.

Excellent shave tonight. 3 days growth fell to the Jnat honed and Kangaroo stropped Invicta 6/8" Full hollow. I now fully appreciate the expression - " Wiping away the lather. " with a shave ready blade
24 mm Horse hair brush.
Face lathered Godrej Menthol Mist Cream
2 pass WTG XTG
A very nice DFS

Pre: GFT lime skin food
Brush: Shavemac 177
Soap: shaverheaven drogon noir tallow
Razor: merkur 34c
Blade: Feather
Post: alum, witch hazel aloe, Aesop Moroccan neroli asb

Great shave tonight. Shaver haven soap provided great protection and glide tonight.

Yeah well and it's a shame my brother rob all 6 Shaver Heaven soaps I've bought from @Anthony, I'm now down to 4 which has been lock up and he can't get it which make me :mad::mad::mad:
Can I be your brother too? So that I can grab the remaining 4 off you? [emoji48] [emoji48] [emoji48] [emoji48] [emoji48] [emoji48] [emoji48] [emoji48] [emoji48]

Razor: Standard

Brush: Simpsons Commodore X2 Best
Soap: Taylor of Old Bond Street Coconut
Post Shave: Thayers Lemon Witch Hazel, Nivea Balm and Pino EDT
Three pass shave. The TOBS lathered up a treat and performed as expected. Second use of the Feather for this shave and it is still very sharp but has smoothed out for this shave. Was pretty much done after two passes but was having so much fun I did a third pass. Excellent result. The Simpsons brush is simply superb and the love affair continues.

Sword: Schick E-Type
Suds: Gent's #4 Olive / Omega S10108
Salve: Pinaud VIBR

I did something controversial this morning. I didn't soak my whiskers before shaving. Normally I splash my face with ice cold water then go about collecting my equipment for this shave, giving the whiskers some time to drink up the water. Today I simply lathered up, painted on and went for it and I had one of my best shaves ever in terms of comfort and result.

Two passes with a splash of ice water in between.

These homemade hot process soaps can be used a few short hours after creation but it's becoming clear to me that they really benefit from a little ageing.

Face Wash : Musgo Real Lime Menthol Glycerine Soap
Pre-Shave : Razorock Peppermint Pre-Shave
Brush : Fine Synthetic
Soap : Maggard's Orange Menthol
Razor : Tanifuji 6/8 straight
After Shave : Alum, Lipikar Balm, Alvarez Gomez EDC

What a great start to the week :) Having selected the Tanifuji razor I knew I was in for a good shave. Exactly how good was up to me. Did a thorough prep, and finished off with the Razorock Peppermint pre-shave. The pre-shave feels great on the face - a bit of a menthol/peppermint buzz and a clean fragrance. Followed up with a good but not brilliant lather from the Maggard's soap - althought the fragrance is great, I won't be restocking this one when it's finished (if ever)... The Tanifuji performed as you'd expect from a razor that's regarded as second only to Iwasaki - superbly. It's noisy, extremely sharp, smooth and easy to handle. I finished off with my favourite post-shave skin treatment - Laroche-Posay Lipikar. I really recommend this product - it seems a bit pricy at just under $20 for a large tube, but a little goes a very long way, and it really does make your skin feel great without any greasy residue :)

Another fantastic photo and shave lineup Draco. Always exciting to see what you used to treat your face! [emoji38]

Ditto this with my experience of this soap by Maggards. Very average. I've used a few and they all have performed similarly. It would be interesting to hear from someone who has enjoyed using this range of soaps.

Soap: Lebelle Tobac Vanille
Brush: RR Monster Synth
Razor: Rockwell 6S #2
Blade: Voskhod (3)
Post-shave: Thayers & Myrsol F/Extra

First use of the Lebelle soaps, and thoroughly impressed. Firstly scent was great, vanilla upfront pre-lather, then when the water hits and lather starts, you get the tobacco start to build more noticeably in the background, without dominating at all. Took bugger all time to load with the synth, thanks to the stearic acid and coconut oil, and turned into a "voluminous" lather with ease. Thanks to the tallow offering, slickness was there in spades, not quite up there with Stirling or B&M, but bloody close and better than most. The only area where I would say this is an average performer (note not bad, just not up there with some of the best) was post-shave. Sitting here several hours after the shave, I wouldn't say my face has dried out at all, but not the same feel as MWF (which I would say is the best I've used for my skin).

Razor:
Gillette Sensor Excel
Blade: Gillette Sensor Excel Cart (2)
Brush: Muhle Travel Synthetic
Soap/Cream: D R Harris Arlington Shave Stick
Aftershave: Floid Vigoroso

Yesterday's Vatican Museum highlight?

Was it the standing in a line for an hour to buy tickets, or being part of the subsequent human tide that we were trapped in for probably longer again but did pass through the Sistine Chapel at one point OR was it leaving and seeing NO LINE to get in an buy tickets? Tough one. The Gallery of Maps was amazing through - possibly the highlight -

The stand out for the day though was a flashback moment. Twenty plus years ago on a cold December day I had my first roasted chestnuts in Roma by the Spanish Steps. Back there yesterday and they still tasted as good.

@Mark1966 you've remind me my childhood and I love roasted chestnuts yum yum yum, also as a Mason who really love old history stone craft buildings and painting made by masons in the very very old days.
