Soap/Cream: D R Harris Arlington Shave Stick
Aftershave: Floid Vigoroso

Yesterday's Vatican Museum highlight?

Was it the standing in a line for an hour to buy tickets, or being part of the subsequent human tide that we were trapped in for probably longer again but did pass through the Sistine Chapel at one point OR was it leaving and seeing NO LINE to get in an buy tickets? Tough one. The Gallery of Maps was amazing through - possibly the highlight -

The stand out for the day though was a flashback moment. Twenty plus years ago on a cold December day I had my first roasted chestnuts in Roma by the Spanish Steps. Back there yesterday and they still tasted as good.

The last time he was there, my brother accidentally got to meet the Pope.
He thought he was getting tickets to see the Sistine Chapel, but someone took him to the place where you get tickets to meet the Big Kahuna.

@Mark1966 you've remind me my childhood and I love roasted chestnuts yum yum yum, also as a Mason who really love old history stone craft buildings and painting made by masons in the very very old days.
LOL. I don't think Pope Gregory VIII would call himself a Mason... nor Danti who oversaw the painting of the Gallery of Maps... You're going a bit DaVinci Code on us mate! :ROFLMAO:

OT:- @filobiblic the Mason do not believe in the Holy Grail or the DaVinci Code by Dan Brown is a bloody myth full of crap brain washing story and they make the Masons very very angry ;)

Pre: GFT lime skin food
Brush: chubby 2
Soap: SV 70th
Razor: merkur 34c
Blade: Feather
Post: alum, witch hazel with aloe, SH green tobacco asb

Stuck in traffic for an extended period of time, so compensation is required. Chubby + SV 70th is my therapy.

Loaded it Oppa @alfredus style today. Load load load. Great o'lather.
Heyyyyyy sexy lather. Op op op op oppa @alfredus style!

The chubs been slightly better I guess, since the vinegar wash. Approximately 8-9 bristles maybe? Will keep monitoring it. It is slowing down, by about half compared to previously. Fingers crossed. [emoji37] [emoji37] [emoji37] [emoji37]

Great international feeling to my shave tonight.

The razor was a new arrival, a Russian 5/8" from 1957. It was easy to hone and the grind is terrific. 1/2 hollow I believe. My only negative comment is the razor is a bit small in the hand and I don't have large hands. That said I already have a NOS Russian on its way expecting it in about a week. The Russian razor took 13 days which was excellent.
The hones for the sharpening were Japanese and the strop was Cow and Roo made in Adelaide by @Robbie d
The soap was an international Aussie brand, our very own Shaver Heaven. @Anthony congratulations a really top line soap. Used the Drogon Noir and the lather was easy with great glide for the straight razor.
The brush was a horse hair from China - real horse I think. Smelt like one.
The water was collected from septic tanks and run off from innumerable less than desirable sources as it traversed the Murray and was "cleaned up" for my shave by SA Water.

Happy with a comfortable DFS.

Another fantastic photo and shave lineup Draco. Always exciting to see what you used to treat your face!

Thanks for the kind words Filo! Believe me, it's mutual - I always enjoy your SOTDs too, particularly when you whip out one of your unusual DEs that I have to go and look up.

I enjoy many of the great contributors and SOTD offerings here - there's always something to educate/enable/entertain/intrigue/baffle/buy/try. The variety is wonderful, especially with the common thread of enjoying shaving. A few recent SOTDs have led me astray and I've found myself clicking the "Buy" button on a few interesting items. Thanks to all of you for putting in and making this a such good place to be :)

Well, after a hectic weekend getting a 16th birthday party setup for my daughter and then a ton of running around, I ended up having to have a rushed shave this morning to get ready for work.

Razor: EJ DE86
Blade: Astra SP
Brush: EJ Best Badger
Soap: EJ Lime & Pomegranate cream
After: TN Dickinson WH with Aloe Vera

Love the lime fragrance of the soap, and it lathers well. Had time for 3 rushed passes but no cleanup, and still got a good shave to start the day. The Astra was very forgiving today as I had a couple of close calls due to haste, but no blood spilled in the rush, thankfully :)

Razor: EJ DE89
Blade: Voskhod (3)
Brush: Simpson duke 2 pure
Cream: MenU cream sample
After: Alum, Jade East after shave, Nivea men energizing face gel

The MenU cream was a little sub par this morning. Barely enough lather for two passes, had to reload the brush with a little more cream for the third pass. Definitely need more than a large pea sized amount recommended on the packaging. 3 pass shave (W,X,X) resulting in an irritation free DFS. Small nick on the lower lip due to minor lack of concentration.

Vitos Preshave
Wolf Whiskers Bishop 24mm finest
OSP Sandalwood soap
Seygus
Polsilver SI (4)
Denim Blue aftershave

Bit let down by the aftershave. I need a sandalwood aftershave. I heard Proraso are making one soon. Really good lather from the OSP. I was rinsing the brush for ages afterwards to get it all out.

Guys I haven't been around much lately but their has been a good reason. I hope to be more active again soon.

Shaved last night with a Fatboy that was cleaned for me by @FatBoy58 (it was a cheap $40 ebay buy), with a Gillette black blade obtained from either @Monsta_AU or @borked in a trade, used SVV Cosmo soap and aftershave obtained from @shavetheman from his great store The Stray Whisker.

It was a great shave, loved the soap and performance.

Writing this has made me reflect how many great people I have meet through this forum. Their are too many to mention but you guys know who you are. i have meet people that will be my friends for life.
