Pre: GFT lime skin food
Brush: Shavemac 177
Soap: shaverheaven drogon noir tallow v2
Razor: iKon B1 OSS
Blade: Voskhod (third use)
Post: alum, witch hazel with aloe, Aesop Moroccan neroli.

Very smooth shave today, though the blade is starting to dull, more passes were required.

Just pure luxury shaving with @Anthony soaps. Love it.

I'm never going to get to use one as I don't see myself ever getting into straight shaving, but man the simplicity and elegance of a nice kamisori puts all the engineering of mach 72s etc to shame. I almost wish I could be arsed to learn, but then I hear kami's are a step further up the education system.
I'm happy with my bachelors degree ( DE) I just can't see myself going for a masters (straight) or a PhD (kamisori).

@eggbert - never say never ;) You might just get bored or attacked by mid-life crisis and need a new challenge to brighten up your life. And what better challenge than that of achieving mastery over a sharp little piece of steel hand hammered, shaped and sharpened by a Japanese artisan? Go for it, Egg - liberate your inner Ninja ;)

Razor: EJ DE86
Blade: Vintage Gillette Super Stainless (4)
Brush: EJ Best Badger
Soap: Proraso Green (May Madness)
After: TN Dickinson WH with Aloe Vera

Much better shave today - previous shave, prep was off as our HWS was playing up, so was a very quick shower. Much better today with nice hot water!

Still getting a good shave from the Gillette, but it's definitely lost a bit - a lot more cleanup effort needed, and definitely starting to pull a bit. Noticeable on the upper lip in particular. Might get 5 or 6 out of it at a stretch, in this razor.

Razor: Gillette 'Fatboy' Adjustable (5)
Blade: Vintage Schick Superior Platinum (6)
Brush: Vintage butterscotch Simpson
Soap/Cream: Mike's Natural Shaving Soaps - Barbershop
Aftershave: B&M Kyovu
Cologne: Penhaligon's Halfeti

Hmmm, nice

Preshave: PAA Ice preshave soap
Razor: Standard
Blade: Personna Med Prep
Brush: Simpson Commodore X2
Soap: Mystic Water Teakwood and Cardamom
Post Shave: Loccitane BAVX balm and Musgo Real Orange Amber
Three pass shave. It was just a very enjoyable shave today. The Standard was excellent, the blade was great and the soap performed beautifully. The brush on my face was tender and delicate. Before I knew it the shave was over and my face was soft and smooth. Finished off with a touch of the balm and a splash of scent. Definitely ready for lunch.

Razor: EJ DE89
Blade: Voskhod (1)
Brush: Simpson duke 2 pure
Soap: Shaver Heaven Peppermint Plus
After: Alum, Myrsol formula "C", Nivea sensitive balm

Wanted a really good shave this morning, so I went back to what I know. Did the traditional 3 pass this morning, with a little touch up around the jaw line and under the neck. Ended up with a nice BBS shave with minimal irritation. The shaver heaven was fantastic this morning, I did a version of @alfredus's technique, and was rewarded with a brilliant lather! Happy Friday!

Face Wash : Shower
Pre-Shave : Myrsol Emulsion
Brush : Simpson's Wee Scot
Soap : Saponificio Varesino Dolomiti
Razor : Fine Superlite Slant
Blade : Timor [0]
After Shave : Alum, Witch Hazel/Aloe Vera, Floid Vigoroso

It's Friday, which means lunch with good friends from Paste and Cut :)

After enjoying a couple of wonderful straight/Kami shaves, I'm in the mood to resume exploring the mighty little Fine Slant. @Lifes a Peach has been getting some really impressive blade mileage from the Timor blades I bought months ago and have never got round to trying. At last count, I think he said that he's had 13 shaves from the same blade and isn't ready to call it quits yet . I whipped up a superb lather using the Faux Tortoiseshell Wee Scot and the fabulous Saponificio Varesino - lots of body, cushion and glide. Then the shave : the Timor blade while not blunt by any means was noticeably less sharp than the Feather I recently used in the same razor. This is hair or whisker splitting I know - any blade seems less sharp than a Feather, and I did get a perfectly comfortable and efficient shave. Another couple of gentle passes and I had a perfect BBS with no irritation at all. I find it hard to imagine getting another 13 or more shaves from the blade, but @Lifes a Peach has done it! I finished off the shave with the usual alum/witch hazel combo, and followed it up with a liberal squirt of the very good Hanae Mori AS Splash.

Now for lunch :)

Brush: Semogue SOC 2 Band Finest Badger in Cherry Wood (3)
Razor: Razorock Mission
Blade: Polsilver Super Iridium (3)
Soap/Cream: Mitchell's Wool Fat
Post/After Shave: Alum Block / T.N. Dickinson Witch Hazel Astringent / Australian Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Fragrance: L'Occitane Baux

Nothing special today as my Semogue SOC 2 Band Finest Badger is doing well and still hanging there very slowly broken in ;)

Very classy shave, @Draco Noir .

The Timor has just seen action for the fourteenth time :) Like yourself I wasn't too impressed with sharpness but it has certainly a blade that goes the distance.

Last nights shave with the one blade and Mikes Lemongrass and Eucalyptus went well. Third shave on the despined gem blade provided a close result but I'm still not quite won over by this razor. It's just a bit boring to use.

Finished off with a nice splash of Myrsol Antesol. Has anyone tried the Metisol? I'm wondering what it smells like?

I can't believe you're smoking liquid while you're shaving at the same time @unobtainium81, looks bloody cool while my brother was watching me over my shoulder and he said is that guy smoking brandy, scotch or rum otherwise he looks tough like a boss in a bathroom ;)

With this "different soap each shave" thing this month I'm aiming to hit a whole lot of samples I have. This is the first and it's such a lovely scent too.

Antesol is one of my favourites. Metisol has a "medicinal" kind of scent. It's very effective at healing, and the scent doesn't linger.

@unobtainium81, the Metilsol leads with a Thyme scent a bit like Agua Balsamica but toned down a little. To my nose, the Antesol has a slightly citrus leading scent which gives it a bit of top end pizzazz, while the Metilsol has a softer, rounder top end. If you like most of the Myrsol products, I'm sure this will hit the spot :)

I'll have to give it a try once one of my current ones runs out or I need to make up an order for free delivery [emoji16]

Just buy a seven day set of the varieties :)
