Razor: Gillette Parat
Blade: Gillette Thin Blade F-1 1958
Pre-Shave: Proraso Sandalwood
Cream: Rose of Bulgaria
Aftershave: Pinaud Clubman Virgin Island Bay Rum

Today, I shaved with one of my lone blades. I picked a Thin Blade 1958 (happen to be 58 years old :0 Coincidence? I don't believe in coincidence.). The blade was wrapped in a sorry wrapper and I wasn't expecting much : / At my great surprise, It managed to give me 2 WTG + XTG & ATG on the mustache area, the blade was a bit tuggy but reasonably sharp (I've shaved with way way worst...well tried to shave I guess?).The alum bloc gave me a good feedback, and the Lava Clubman did burn my face BUT in a smooth way :)

You are a braver man than me shaving with those pre-stainless blades. I think I still have over 80 of the Gillette traitee blades that are never going to be used again.

Preshave: PAA Ice soap and Proraso Red preshave cream
Razor: Edwin Jagger DE89
Blade: Polsilver SI
Brush : Vie Long Horse
Soap: Mystic Water Sweet Briar(May Madness)
Post Shave: Gummy Balm and Blue Stratos AS
Three pass shave. The soap is pretty much dialed in with any brush I have now. I can produce a bountiful, slick lather very quickly with it. BBS result with very little effort. Sunday morning shaves are a pure indulgence. Enjoy your Sunday gents, whatever you are doing.

Razor: Gillette 'Fatboy' Adjustable (5)
Blade: Vintage Schick Superior Platinum (6)
Brush: Vintage butterscotch Simpson reknotted in 'Pure'
Soap/Cream: Mike's Natural Shaving Soaps - Barbershop
Aftershave: Captain's Choice Bay Rum

Good to be back home!

Great lather, again, from the Mike's (getting a little boring really) and I am reminded why it was getting rave reviews before the likes of B&M and PAA came onto the scene and became more fashionable.

The day using a cart didn't help my technique at all - I was bitten slightly by the Fatboy! No idea how it happened and it was only very minor but a good reminder to never take using a DE for granted.

Some days are bay rum days - this was one of them!

Happy Sunday guys :)

I rarely get a good shave out of these vintage non-stainless blades, however there is a few rare exceptions like the Thin blade in white wrapper and some well preserved blue blades.

Pre: Pears transparent soap
Razor: Gillette open comb
Blade: Voskhod (3)
Soap: Shaver Heaven Peppermint Plus
Brush: Simpson Duke 2
After: Alum, Myrsol Formula "C"

Nice Sunday morning shave today. Although Mrs Normie hi-jacked the bathroom from the beginning. Ended up with a near BBS shave and barely any irritation.
Happy Sunday!

Pre: Shower/ Face wash
Soap: The Sudsy Soapery 'Twice Mint'
Brush: Duke 2 'Pure'
Razor: 6/8 Friodur Inox
Post: Alum, Thayer Cucumber, SV Tundra Artica AB

A BBS today. I whipped up a great lather from the 'Suds', (lather shots here) then just throw it on my face, got my razor and mowed through a weeks growth. 3 passes with a little touch up on the jaw and it was all over. Rubbed the alum over face, washed it off then splashed away with the Thayers and put on the Tundra Artica AB. Great shave (y)

May your next shaves be as good as mine was today gents. :)

Soap - B&M Lavanille
Brush - RR Monster Synth
Blade - Permasharp (2)
Razor - Rockwell #2
Postshave - Thayers Medicated, Myrsol Emulsion & JPG Le Male

Received Thayers Medicated during the week (20% alcohol, has peppermint oil as well so slightly cooling and fresh scent) and have been very impressed. I'm going to use this when I will be applying a scented balm with longevity, or EDT. Very good results if you have some irritation, and leave a great post feel even when not using a balm (though it does finish it off better). When my other thayers (alcohol free) runs out, will be picking up a cucumber.

For those in the other thread about winter shaves and cool weather, this is a typical winter day near my place :) Happy Sunday all

Liking this shave! Amazing what a simple change of hardware like brush can do for a shave.

I really do prefer the shavette over the 30C now too.
