Thanks @bald as this horse now has beautiful soft tips but with a firm backbone. Great to use.
The Serge Lutens is a very high quality perfume at a reasonable price. This quality in some other designer brand names will fetch double the price. @Draco Noir you made a wonderful discovery with this line of perfumes.
The white horse vie long looks amazing. I'm very keen on getting one further down the road as they are not very expensive to own. I am enjoying my brown horse hair at the moment. A good warm water soak softens it up. The back bone with the brown horse is insane. I've seen the mean lather your vie long whips up. Amazing!!

A very good choice it would be. Once broken in they are wonderful to use. Give it a clean and comb every now and then and it should whip up fantastic lathers for years to come. I too have the brown horse hair , which I enjoy using, but the white horse hair is a nicer brush, in my opinion.

Interesting. Looking forward to it. As usual, thank you for sharing your thoughts. I initially wanted to get the white horse hair but unfortunately it was out of stock. Maybe in near future. Should have gotten the one @Psmith was selling couple of weeks ago.

Another fantastic shave - beautiful sunny day today, so got the Lime out. This resulted in perfect drippy lather (picture here) - I hope you all enjoy your shaves as much as I did (y)
Awesome looking shave @alfredus . You have such wonderful razors and brushes. You have also got me curious about that Mystic Water soap. If you are ever keen on organising a group buy I will be in!

Razor: "Acquired from @Robbie d - I believe an experiment by one of his friends.
Brush: Turkish barber's brush. Boar/Horse depending who is telling the story. I don't use this one a whole lot but when I do I realise just how big it is.
Lather: So much there was a party going on.

2 passes high on excitement. DFS- no cuts or irritation but not as close as my Japanese folding Kamisori sent by @Draco Noir. The blade was insanely sharp but felt thick, even a bit dull. A bit deceptive really as the whiskers fell without effort. Feedback though from the blade was not very high. I really enjoy wafer thin blades that chatter like Velcro being pulled apart.

Pre: GFT lime skin food
Brush: Epsilon Brown Horse
Soap: SV 70th
Razor: iKon B1 Slant
Blade: PSI
Post: alum, witch hazel, Myrsol Plastic Shave, The Stray Whisker sample balm

After two days of being away from home, I look forward to going home to have a good shave. Inspired by @Osman shave today, I decided to go for the horse. It's relatively a rougher brush, a little scratchy at times. The water I soak my brush in might not be warm enough. Seriously curious about the white horse hair now. Hopefully the brown horse will soften further upon usage.

Loaded the brush with the SV soap, whipped up a moist drippy lather. Lather Shots. Excellent performance from a vegan soap.

The slant which is paired with the PSI, mowed down two days growth as if it's nothing, despite the fact that this is the third use of the blade. Smooth shave achieved with no blood shed. Though face felt just a tad raw, might be from the brush. But absolutely no razor burn.

Used the balm as moisturiser tonight, so far I'm liking it. Non greasy, which is a key criteria for my moisturiser selection as I have combination skin. Can't wait for the full tube to arrive.

3P preshave
Shavemac Silvertip
Lebelle - Honey Crisp
Cobra Classic
Feather Pro (3)
Razorock Baby Blue aftershave

Well the cobra certainly fills the boots of the Darwin well. Seems much more efficient than the Mongoose but retains that smoothness in use. I rate the Lebelle soaps highly. I can't believe I've only got the one. Nice fresh apple scent on this.

I'm off to look up Serge Lutens [emoji33]

Razor: Weber Polished Head on Bulldog Handle
Blade: Vintage Schick Super Platinum (3)
Brush: Vintage butterscotch Simpson H2 boar
Soap/Cream: Mike's Natural Shaving Soaps - Barbershop
Aftershave: Barberry Coast Shaving Co - Havana Balm

Love the Mike's and this old boar is SOOOOO broken in!

Pre shave:
Blind Barber Facewash
Razor: iKon DLC Slant with bamboo handle
Blade: PSI (3)
Brush: Paladin Falstaff
Soap: Barrister and Mann 42
Splash: Floid Suave

Couldn't resist using the Paladin today although it probably needed another couple of break in lathers. It feels fantastically soft. A little less backbone than my Shavemac 2 band, nice bit of scrub, but zero scritch. It created a superb lather with the 42.
It took me a while, but I think I've tamed the iKon Slant now. Consistent BBS with no irritation. An excellent razor.

Fantastic brush. It looks great as well.

Yes agree with the slant. When paired with a PSI, it gave me smooth and close shaves consistently. Only two pass + touch up required to achieve a great BBS shave. Although it's not very forgiving when I have bad lather. Get my lather right and I'll get a great shave with the slant.

Thanks @alfredus - your feedback is appreciated my friend :notworthy:

@silver : I've owned a good few horsehair brushes from Vie Long, and I'm certain that the white horsehair is noticeably less scritchy than the brown, while still matching it for backbone. YMMV, but I imagine @Osman would agree with me...

Have fun with that @unobtainium81 - bet you find something that pleases you. I'll be interested in your impressions when the time comes (y)
