Gee @SpeedyPC - tough flights. Across the US and then across the Pacific is a pain :(

Never done it via Honolulu - I presume just a transit not stopover?

I've avoided the SYD - DFW but think I will have one next year. Will be interested to see how that goes ...

Anyway - safe travels mate!

OT: @Mark1966 what we need right now is a bloody teleport ;) I'm already home ;)

Pre: GFT Lime Skin Food
Brush: Shavemac 177
Soap: Dr Jon Anne Bonny
Razor: Standard
Blade: Feather
Post: Alum, witch hazel, Ogallala Lime and Peppercorn Bay Rum

Whipped up a good lather today, might have underloaded it a little as my third pass isn't as thick as my first and the brush wasn't drowned in lather like it usually does.
But the scent of the Anne Bonny is freaking amazing. Still managed a good irritation free shave and close enough shave.

Finally got back the same feel I'd expect from the Standard and Feather combo. Efficient razor and so much blade feel. Have to use very light and gentle touches. But it doesn't gives me the closest shave. I think my closest razor is still the iKon Slant and PSI Combo.

Finished off with the trusty alum, witch hazel and then the delicious Ogallala Bay Rum! As you pour it out, you can see the specks of oil floating on top, despite shaking the bottle vigorously before use. Initial contact with the skin, BOY IT BURNS, then it settles down and leaves the skin feeling so good. Very nice bay rum aftershave. Strong on cloves initially, slowly the pepper and citrusy wood appears. It's my first bay rum aftershave, didn't know what to expect but I sure am not disappointed at all. Ogallala Ogallala, interesting name.

Pre: Musgo Real Lime Oil Soap, Myrsol Antesol and Emulsion
Brush: Savile Row 3824 Silvertip
Soap: Mūhle Sea Buckthorn
Razor: Feather AS-D2
Blade: Feather (1)
Post: Myrsol Antesol and Emulsion
A/S: Myrsol Blue

First spin with the Mūhle Sea Buckthorn soap. Good lather, lasted well for three pass shave. It seemed to lose slickness towards the end of the shave - had to be cautious during cleanup. Very close shave, however, with a couple of weepers.
The Myrsol combo left me with a lovely post shave finish.

Pre: Occam's Original Pre-Shave Soap
Brush:Simsons Ch1
Razor:Progress, 3.0, Feathers
Cream: St James of London - Sandalwood Bergamot
Post: St James of London - Post Shave gel/After Balm

Pulled the Merkur back a mite this morning due to my skin taking a battering during the week, broke out the SJOL as it's one of my favourite creams and scents and Saturday's shave is the one I enjoy especially, always a superb lather with this cream. I went with my usual 2 pass routine, WTG XTG and my neck was glad for the reduction in severity from the old trusty progress. The SJOL Sandalwood and Bergamot has a definite bias towards the Bergamot, with all the deep winter scents I have been using on a daily basis the freshness is something of a treat and makes a welcome change. Finished up with the SJOL post shave gel, it's fairly high in glycerine which was appreciated by my weathered visage. A touch of Post Balm to freshen the proceedings up and there you have it - a thoroughly enjoyable Saturday morning shave.

Time for plenty of coffee, some pastries and unhurried, mindful hours spent reading the various news and subscription sites I pay for which is how ideally I like to spend a Saturday morning!

There is something else big going on today if I remember correctly, however I just can't think what it could be ;)

** Edit - There is a stick of TOBS Jermyn St deodorant visible in the picture too. I picked up a few different TOBS deodorants on a whim and quite like them. Great performance and scent.

Thought i would have a trip down memory lane this morning used my first DE razor given to me by Dad in 1976 as the description above
says anyway had a very comfortable relaxing shave as the old man say's its all about the post shave feel son and i certainly got that this morning
almost BBS except for my trouble spot on one side of my jaw line.
The Gillette British Tech is a very mild razor but used proficiently it does a fantastic job and is very comfortable to use, these days i use it with an
Edwin Jagger handle which is a bit longer than the standard Aluminium handle the razor came out with.

Razor : HG Razors 6/8 Suminigashi
After Shave : Alum, Top Seven Balm, Hanae Mori - HM

A Sunday quality shave on Saturday...

Got up with time on my hands today, so I seized the opportunity to have a really luxurious shave. I started with Razorock Peppermint pre-shave, and enjoyed the high concentration of natural menthol in it. Next - lather : very ably handled by the Simpson brush and Meissner Tremonia soap. I made up a really good looking lather in the scuttle, and then added a little more hot water while painting my face. Ended up with a beautifully wet, gliding lather and a great fragrance.

Today's razor choice was the very beautiful Suminigashi Straight made for me by Gergely Horvath in Budapest. This guy is a fantastic artisan, and is up there with the best razor makers in the world. He is also a pleasure to deal with. The razor gave me a really magnificent shave, with amazing comfort levels. Like jumping into a big Audi or Merc, you know you're in for a stately ride. And that's what I got - 2 passes of really comfortable driving, and a BBS result.

The usual finishers, with the very appealing "HM" by Hanae Mori as the fragrance for the day.

I'm a happy camper :)

Wonderful expression of sentiment mate and certainly a fantastic soap and compliment of kit!

Fantastic picture man, love the emphasis on the high quality artisanal products and that very beautiful straight razor.

Thanks @todras getting sentimental in my middle age the old man's not the best theses days so i thought i would dig out the first razor he gave me its amazing
the little things that stick in your mind.

My old man is well into his 80's and as with most blokes of that age has his up's and downs - more downs than up these days truth be told. I think its genuinely nice you have that razor and use it knowing it's origin and the man who gifted it to you, things like that catch in our minds without any doubt mate :)

Razor: Weber Polished Head on Bulldog Handle
Blade: Vintage Schick Super Platinum (6)
Brush: Vintage butterscotch Simpson AS2
Soap/Cream: Mystic Waters Sardinian Honey
Aftershave: Barberry Coast Shaving Co Havana Balm

Same kit as yesterday, wanted an assured good shave before heading off to help a mate at a Polling Booth. It was -3 degrees when I got there just before 8am kick off and I got off early so I'm home now.

Whichever 'brand' they are, be nice to the lovely people trying to assist you in completion of your important democratic right. They are probably cold, tired and hungry and are NOT doing it for the money!

If you haven't already done so - go NOW, polls close at 6:00pm sharp :)

Oh, great shave too BTW (y)

Pre-Shave: Cypriotian Olive/Argan Oil soap, cold water
Razor: Weber PH UFO Titan L
Blade: Ladas (2)
Brush: Nathan Clark Envy White
Lather: Mike's Orange, Cedarwood & Black Pepper
Post-shave: Alum, Barrister & Man Kyovu Original, Australian Emu Oil

Well Saturday shaves can be as good if not better than Sunday shaves. Really great one today, the new handle feels strangely comfortable. It's weird and against all logic, but it somehow forced me to hold a very steady angle and just worked...the knurling is just out of this world.

The lather was also top notch (picture here) - you simply can't go wrong with Mike's - ready for a hopefully great weekend :D

Absolute beast of a handle on that bad boy

I went to China for my straight razor shave - virtual and I re knotted a brush this afternoon with a 24mm Synthetic knot from China and it performed really well. The Chinese razor was/is a very inexpensive ZY. It came "shave ready" but no indication was given as to shave ready for what so I gave it a good going over and it is now fantastic.

Soap was my Sandalwood MDC clone whipped up in a Polish scuttle. Quite the international shave. :)
2 passes DFS+ - no blood.

Pre: GFT lime skin food
Brush: SOC
Soap: Eufros Jabonman Vetiver Haiti
Razor: Standard
Blade: Feather
Post: alum, witch hazel, Eufros Jabonman Vetiver Haiti

Fantastic shave tonight with my usual wet slick drippy lather. Used the wet method again, although it munches a bit of soap, but I am consistently getting good lather out of this method. Soap scent and performance is top notch.

Three pass shave plus clean up on stubborn areas. Scored one nick but overall a great shave achieved.

Finished off with the usuals, along side my number one balm of all time - Eufros Jabonman Vetiver Haiti.

Oh nearly forgot this. Lather Shots.
