Razor: Weber Polished Head on Bulldog Handle
Blade: Astra Superior Stainless (1)
Brush: Vintage butterscotch Simpson
Soap/Cream: Mystic Waters Sardinian Honey
Aftershave: Barberry Coast Shaving Co Havana Balm

Was time for a blade change and I thought I would be radical and go for a modern one. Nice smooth shave with the Superior Stainless - will see how long it lasts though!

Really enjoying the MW Sardinian Honey - thanks again for the sample @Lifes a Peach, I can see some of this in my future (y)

Pre: La Toja Magno Classic Black
Razor: Progress/Feather
Brush: Simpson Ch1
Soap/Cream: B+M Latha Sandalwood/Currant/Amber
Post: Chatillon Lux - Vide Poche Salve

Really enjoyable scent from the Latha, even for a budget range soap, it is up there with as one of my winter fav's at the moment. I always spend a little extra time with a Monday shave, despite it being a working day I am determined not to let that interfere with the enjoyment I get from the morning ritual that set's me up for the day at work. Very enjoyable post shave from the Vide Poche - strong honeysuckle, amber and sweet orange notes and a post shave feel that cannot be beat.

Face Wash : Musgo Real Lime Soap
Pre-Shave : Razorock Peppermint Pre-Shave
Brush : Omega #615 Silvertip
Soap : SV 70th Anniv.
Razor : Henckels Friodur 250 - 6/8 Stainless
After Shave : Alum, Top Seven Balm, Tom Ford - Grey Vetiver

Great shave today. I pulled out the SV70 soap for the first time in what seems like ages, and paired it with the amazing little Omega brush in the photo. Talk about a giant bloom on a midget brush. And it's amazingly soft too - feels great on the face and makes lather like a little machine. A small amount of work and I had enough beautiful lather for 5 or 6 passes...

Today's razor is the highly respected Henckels 250. It's the only stainless razor to have attained "classic" status. Easy to see why, but I'm mystified that few other manufacturers even made stainless razors, let alone superb ones. Perhaps it's a matter of timing : the Japanese have developed some superb stainless steels in the cutlery industry (eg VG10), but they must have come after the demise of the straight razor and Kamisori. Fortunately Henckels left us this model, and it's brilliant. Today's shave was really wonderful - the razor sings really loudly, and provides a lot of tactile feedback as well. My fairly standard 2 passes saw me right in the zone today.

Today's fragrance is the excellent Grey Vetiver from Tom Ford. For the most part, I'm not a big Vetiver fan - cheaper Vetiver fragrances smell "ropey" and unappealing to me. Tom Ford must have sourced some special grade of Vetiver, because there's none of that ropiness here, just an expertly blended fragrance with Vetiver as the Keynote.

Happy shaving to you all :)

Cracked open and oldy from the back of the drawer today. SAM is several formula revisions old but still a great soap. Went with a wet brush technique too. Result is basically the same! Top result... love your work @Anthony, then and now.

So you get up early, try to be organised, take your SOTD picture - than plans change, things come up and you end up at the post office picking up the razor you paid for last October...well I guess you have to start again :D

Pre-Shave: Cypriotian Olive/Argan Oil soap, cold water
Razor: Supply Provisions Single Edge Medium
Blade: Personna Injector (1)
Brush: Doug Korn Epsilon 2-band
Lather: Mystic Water Bergamot, Cedarwood & Juniper

Won't comment on the razor/shave until I had some more experience - but the lather was superb :D

Public Holiday in The 'Ville today,

Cold water shave at 4:00pm. Gotta love day's off.
Soap: Shaver Heaven Vetiver & Neroli
Brush: Simpson Berkeley badger
Face lather
Blade: Dovo Inox 5/8 in Pearlex scales.

When I was first exposed to Vetiver soaps all I could smell was peanuts here but the more I use it the more I smell bushland. Just a good, honest scent. Not florally or "nice" but ... ... ... anyway, I'm into it.

The last few days I've dropped down from my daily 3 pass shave to a 2 pass shave realising I don't need to do the 3 pass ritual each morning; I'm going to work not to a wedding. I think I might move to night shaving also. I fully awake, loaded with caffeine and my physical coordination (reduced from a cerebellum injury years ago; or is it just I'm a unco???) is in check. The Dovo gave a close and smooth shave with one small nick in my regular area of trouble; a hollow on my non-dominant left hand on my neck.

Finished with an alum block and then some Pinaud Clubman. Wish I had another day off tomorrow.

Pre: GFT lime skin food
Brush: Rudy Vey Shavemac 2 Band
Soap: Razorock Santa Maria del Fiore
Razor: Standard
Blade: Feather
Post: alum, witch hazel, Myrsol Plastic Shave

Fantastic lather achieved today with my tiny two band and the razorock soap. Certainly this soap is one of my favourites and I will always have it in my rotation. I sure am not using it enough. Always gives me such pleasurable lather, many thanks to @Psmith for the enabling. Lather shot.

For the past few shaves with the Standard, I felt that one side of the razor had less blade exposure than the other. Which sort of makes shaving a little odd. But I figured out why, I tightened the cap too much, resulting in a deformed blade formation. Upon loosening it just a tiny bit, while still firmly securing the blade, the familiar blade exposure and feel is back. With that amazing blade feel I am able to achieve a very comfortable shave alongside the fantastic lather.

Another great shave achieved, looking forward to tomorrow's shave with probably a tallow soap. Oh, I did nicked myself because of carelessness. One must learn to respect the blade.

Mike's - what do I say?
Great soap and if people have trouble getting great lather with virtually no effort they probably cannot get lather from a can. So easy to load and the proto-lather was fantastic.
The scent - some type of Lavender but really not to my liking so I can see this being converted by way of a bit of alchemy into a lime - clove and lavender soap some time tomorrow.

2 passes and a comfortable DFS
Japanese full hollow 6/8" A really noisy razor which I enjoy.
Scuttle lathered with a Whipped dog 24mm badger that performed reasonably well. Very well actually.

Just a quick clean up shave today. I think I under loaded the soap as it was dissipating a bit on the last pass. I've lost count on the shaves off this blade but it's still going strong and smoothly.

Really appreciating pairing soap, aftershave and cologne. Certainly will be my goal moving forward to buy with consistency and only where there is a continuity in scent.

Felt like the mild sweet spice scent of this soap so I ran with it, great performance from the Stirling as per usual.

Night Shaving? No thanks. First thing in the morning is when I am "I fully awake, loaded with caffeine (well not actually, I don't drink caffeinated drinks) and my physical coordination is in check". Once it gets to 6pm I am a basket case begging to be allowed to go to bed. The morning is where it is at for me.
