-Not sure that it has the 'good stuff' that some aftershaves have - but real men don't need that fancy stuff anyway. This is a 'real man's aftershave'. Old fashioned and simple, polarising in its scent profile, but having that usual Pinaud complexity and multitude of layers. I'm in the love it camp..

Damm straight. It's good, solid stuff from a time when men were men. Anyone who suggests otherwise is probably a communist or not from Brooklyn.

Oh, by the way nice brush (again). I will definitely have to consider ordering some Mike's natural sometime down the track.

Saturday night

Razor: Leresche 77ish
Blade: GBE *2
Soap: P&B Spitfire sample
Brush: usual Omega 10005
A/S: Aqua Velva

This razor really is quite aggressive / gives a close shave. Not quite as good as the previous shave, but I think I fell back into old bad habits of applying some pressure. No nicks though, and still a very nice shave - just a bit stingy on application of the AS.
I'm not sure what era the GBE blade is from, so I might swap it out for a known good vintage blade for my last shave or two before it has to go back to @filobiblic.
Decided I'm not a fan of the spitfire after all. The performance is up there with the best, but I couldn't get past the bonfire / ashtray smokiness. Thanks again go to @filo for the sample. At least I know that tobacco scents probably aren't my thing.

Brush: Rooney emillion 2 heritage
Soap: Penhaligon's EF
BLADE: Feather
Post: Proraso green splash and red post

Happy Sunday gents. Back to basics with Proraso [emoji106] Recently I finished my bottle of Floid, so out came the Proraso splash. Definitely a bit more alcohol than the Floid and a little less menthol. I like it but think I would be trying out something new when this one runs out. The red post on the other hand continues to amaze. As for feather blades it's a love hate relationship depending on the day.

Pre: Musgo Real Glyce Soap
Soap: Beaver Woodright Ghost Ship
Brush: Simpson Commodore 2 Best
Razor: Gillette Red Tip
Blade: PSI (1)
Post: Myrsol Formula K
Scent: Bulgari Black

Testing out some new acquisitions lead to a suprisingly summery shave. The BW Ghost Ship is a brilliant soap with a very nice scent. More complex than just 'citrusy' and not sweet at all. It is very soft though, almost like a cream. I can see myself going through this very quickly. The hint of menthol was heightened by the 'refrescante' Formula K.
The Red Tip is my go to for a quick, comfortable, irritation and weeper free shave, although it never quite serves up a BBS for me.
A few sprays of Bulgari Black and I'm left smelling like a leather wearing petrol pump attendant holding a tray of freshly baked vanilla cookies.

Great shave and great scent description!!! [emoji23]

Preshave: Musgo Real Glyce soap and Proraso sandalwood preshave cream
Razor: Weber with polished stainless steel head(kindly on loan from @Draco Noir
Blade: Polsilver SI
Brush: Epsilon Horse(kindly on loan from @Draco Noir )
Soap: Mystic Water: Sweet Briar
Post Shave: TSW balm and Tom Ford Grey Vetiver
Three pass shave. The Mystic water provided the medium for the shave and this was my first use of the Weber razor. This is a wonderful razor. A combination of efficiency and comfort the likes of which I have not experienced. Paired well with the polsilver it gave me a BBS shave with no irritation and it felt like I would never cut myself with it. What a delight. Day out today so my EDP of choice was Tom Ford Grey Vetiver which will last the entire day and it has.

@FatBoy58 it is a large brush with a stiff backbone and needs to be heavily loaded. I like horse hair you can really give your face a good massage with it. The tips are reasonably soft so no scratching of the face. Good brush

Pre:Blind Barber Facewash
Brush: Thater 4125/3 2 Band
Soap : P&B Spitfire
Razor: iKon DLC Slant on Bamboo handle
Blade: PSI (2)
Post: Myrsol Plastic Shave

Apologies to all for my less than sophisticated summary of the Spitfire scent last time I used it. The tobacco is more to the front now and I'm enjoying it immensely. This brush needs to be loaded as much as a Chubby and I neglected to do so, resulting in a lather that was less slick than normal. Still a great shave though. This is a soap in the top tier, and possibly the best soap coming out of the UK atm (yet to try the new Wickhams).
I can't remember the last time the iKon Slant gave me so much as a weeper or hint of irritation. I love this razor.

Pre: GFT lime skin food
Brush: Rudy Vey Shavemac
Soap: Razorock Santa Maria del Fiore
Razor: ATT S1
Blade: Feather
Post: alum, witch hazel, Myrsol Plastic Shave

Finally paired the S1 with a Feather. Shave was exceptional, however not noticeably better than pairing it with a PSI. Factoring in the pricing of a Feather blade, PSI does the job well enough for me and is the clear winner. I'll use this same set up for the next few days. Both blades are comfortable with the S1. Although I might have had a better & closer shave with the PSI because it gives me better confidence that I wouldn't cut myself. Same set up tomorrow, different soap and brush.

Great shave with no irritation or nicks, very happy tonight.
