Pre: La Toja soap, Myrsol Antesol and Emulsion
Brush: Simpson Chubby 2 Super Badger
Soap: MWF
Razor: Feather AS-D2
Blade: PSI (4)

Post Post: Thayers Superhazel

Take 2 with the MWF. Took the advice and loaded for twice as long with fairly dry brush. Big improvement. Enough suds for three comfortable passes. Very slick. Great face feel. Great post shave feel. I get it.
Thanks all - the P&C Forum delivers again.

@TomG did you try ShaveBusta idea which I prefer to loaded it like hell for twice as long.

Ahh - the sweet smoky peat of Islay.

You know what it's all about ;) a dram(s) of the Islay always hits the spot in the middle of winter.

Tastes like medicine to me

Come off it eggs.. you have just put the boot into the region that is renowned for some of the finest single malts in the world :D

Blended atrocities may taste like medicine, or even some of the suspiciously cheap single malts of dubious provenance. A decent Islay single, and there are more than a dozen or so that I personally love for their wonderful rich characteristics are something to be savoured, respected and enjoyed and are worlds away from tasting like medicine. I will concede that they have a highly medicinal effect though, point notwithstanding.

Pre: Myrsol Antesol
Brush: Rudy Vey Shavemac 2 band
Soap: Mike's Natural Soaps Hungarian Lavender
Razor: Standard
Blade: Feather
Post: alum, witch hazel, TSW After Balm, Barberry Coast Havana Splash

Another fantastic lather from Mike's. You can just keep adding water to it, and it will obediently takes in water as you wish. Lovely lather, the hype is not a lie. Top shelf stuff.

Razor did good, but not as efficient as my slants. I love the blade feel though. I will still get a good BBS shave, just need slightly more passes and touching up.

Finished off with my usual arsenal of after shaves. Sweet finisher from the Havana Splash. It is like rubbing rum on your face, very nice.

Pre: Occam's Crushed Lime Pre Shave Soap
Brush: CH1
Razor//Blade: Merkur Progress, 3.5, Feather Blade
Cream: Castle Forbes Lime Essential Oil Shaving Cream
Post shave: Castle Forbes Lime Essential Oil Aftershave Balm

Castle Forbes Lime because I felt like it, very unseasonal really but always an absolute pleasure to lather and shave with. Superb cushion & glide, an excellent post shave feel and a scent that is most singularly Castle Forbes. Post shave was a treat with their superb balm.

Making up for Saturdays rush in the best way I could, worth every minute of it. A wonderful Sunday early morning shave!

Mark's Myrsol and Mike's Madness - Day Seven

Razor: Fine Accoutrements Slant Razor
Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock Super Platinum 'Black' [India] (6)
Brush: Vintage butterscotch Simpson
Soap/Cream: Mike's Natural Shaving Soaps - Barbershop
Aftershave: Myrsol Agua Balsamica

What a classic way to finish off the Myrsol week - with the Aqua Balsamica!

The Mikes was great as usual through the week and the Gillette 7 O'Clock Super Platinum performed well in the Fine slant. I found that to be a surprisingly good experience but a little 'skippy' in some patches because it was so light. If it was the only razor I had it would be WAY better than a cart but there are others I prefer.

Now, what to use next week ...

Oh, better put in gratuitous photo first -

Preshave: Musgo Real Glyce soap and Proraso sandalwood preshave cream
Razor: Weber Polished Head on and Ikon handle
Blade: Vintage Polsilver(2)
Brush: Kent BLK8
Soap: Mickey Lee Soapworks Colonia di Agrum
Post Shave: Natio Balm, Fine Orange'Noir and Terre de Hermes EDP
Three pass shave that easily and comfortably removed me of a two day growth. Loaded the brush heavily and it performed wonderfully. Simply superb in every respect. The tips are like silk on the face. The vintage blade is so smooth and the Weber razor is a wonder that the result is a shave of epic proportions. Have a great Sunday everyone.

Brush: Shavemac 24mm 2 Band Custom
Soap: MdC Fougere
Razor: iKON Tech on OSS handle
Blade: PSI (1)
Post: Alum, Myrsol Plastic Shave

First time out with the Tech. This razor has a crazy amount of blade exposure. It's basically one step up from a Devette. The shave was close, although not as close as I've been getting with the R41. The R41 gives a DFS after one pass. Not so with the Tech, although this was the first time I've used it so there's a lot to learn. It was also less comfortable. There was a bit of pulling and not very much glide. Many people consider this to be more aggressive than the R41 (which for me was love at first sight) so I will persevere.

@Psmith can you please take photo shot of the blade exposure in an angle closer so I can see the difference in the back of my head with the R41, and I believe the safety bar is not as smooth as you made think when comparing to other safety razors might become a problem if you can see what I'm trying to explain might be any issue as so call more aggressive. I have no issue when using an R41 v2013 head and I'm planning to buy a Fatip Piccolo very soon when I check this baby out ;) and I must say I'm really enjoying open comb safety razor more than close comb and I can see why Freddy can't touch me any more :sneaky:;):p:D

Pre-Shave: Cypriotian Olive/Argan Oil soap, cold water
Razor: BBS-1 UFO Titan L
Blade: Voskhod (2)
Brush: Nathan Clark Envy White
Lather: Mike's Hungarian Laveneder
Post-shave: Alum, Barrister & Man Kyovu Original, South Australian Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Beautiful Sunday shave - it is warn and the sun is out.

I definitely prefer the razor with its original handle, James has crafted it somehow, that they just fit better together. The lather was beautiful (picture here) - flying around and dripping all over the place - happy days :D

I really like your pictures man, I always see them on B+B but its good to see them here, they are very artistic and your collection of contemporary DE razors is thoroughly impressive. That BBS-1 UFO Titan L is an incredible bit of kit - the design aesthetic and that monstrous handle speaks to a very serious and committed wet shaver.

Crazy to call it a "Tech" when the Gillette Techs are so mild by comparison.

I hate blade exposure so I'm avoiding this like the plague. Thanks for commenting about it. [emoji106]
