@Psmith can you please take photo shot of the blade exposure in an angle closer so I can see the difference in the back of my head with the R41, and I believe the safety bar is not as smooth as you made think when comparing to other safety razors might become a problem if you can see what I'm trying to explain might be any issue as so call more aggressive. I have no issue when using an R41 v2013 head and I'm planning to buy a Fatip Piccolo very soon when I check this baby out ;) and I must say I'm really enjoying open comb safety razor more than close comb and I can see why Freddy can't touch me any more :sneaky:;):p:D

Not my pic but this should give a good idea.

GOD CRIKEY!:eek::eek::eek: the iKon Tech has far more blade exposure than the R41 v2013 and the Fatip, thanks @Psmith I think I better pass otherwise Freddy will have me for dinner

Brush: 24mm Envy White badger with custom handle
Saop: Dr Jon's Anne Bonny
Razor: Henckles
After Shave: Dr Jon's Anne Bonny Tonic

Had a very pleasant Sunday afternoon shave, I used the Henckles straight that @Draco Noir was kind enough to give me some time ago for the first time. The Henckles combined with the Anne Bonny soap @Osman loaned me to try out were simply excellent. The Henckles really sang and gave off a great audible note which was very satisfying. It didn't feel as aggressive as some of my other straights, this is not to say that one is better than another just they are all unique in there own way. Although I tend to prefer tallow soaps the Anne Bonny soap lathered up a treat and worked well. I also enjoyed the scent of the Anne Bonny after shave tonic which finished off the shave nicely.

Thanks again to @Draco Noir for the Heckles and @Osman for loaning me the Dr Jon's to try out. The end result was a very relaxing three pass BBS shave with no nicks, cuts or irritation.

SOTD - Sorry lads no pic today

Gillette Flare Tip 1966
Semogue 1305
Vodskhod Blade
K Shave Worx Miami Night (Sample)
Acqua Di Gio Balm
Sauvage Dior

Now the factor into today's' SOTD was the soap so what did I make of it.First off the scent familiar in many of the flowery/fruity scents about currently mid and pleasant. Lathered easily did it liked a little extra water to get it bouncing but when it did it did it very well. I got a very dense creamy lather and applied to the skin and it performed in that regard very dense which led me to think this is going to be real good. However, though everything looked to be going real well it lost it's pzazz I found on initial passes and subsequent that the underlying lather dried out far to quickly and it's slickness was just not there. I had to keep the blade wet more often than usual to keep from having a feeling of dragging it across my skin.

So unfortunately though all appeared well from the outset it really let the feel of passes with the blade down.

The post shave was felt good though and there was no irritation whatsoever throughout.

@filobiblic - Germany, 1932; maybe a Bauhaus design?

The designer and maker could have possibly been influenced by the Bauhaus school/design. Hugo Pasch from Solingen was one of many Rasierapparatefabrik (safety-razor maker).
@alfredus ?

@alfredus ?

Whatever - it looks nice!

Hey - Happy shaving :)

I really like your pictures man, I always see them on B+B but its good to see them here, they are very artistic and your collection of contemporary DE razors is thoroughly impressive. That BBS-1 UFO Titan L is an incredible bit of kit - the design aesthetic and that monstrous handle speaks to a very serious and committed wet shaver.

Thank you @todras - you are too kind - and you made me blush my friend

Brush: M7
Razor: Schick Krona
Blade: Vintage Schick
Soap: P&B Spitfire
A/S: Fine Clean Vetiver

A great shave all round. Really enjoying the Schick Krona, it's incredibly mild but so efficient. Hopefully it'll work just as well with other blades, I've only got a few vintage Schick blades left.

A nice sharp blade does the trick for me with the Krona. Lovely razor.

Pre: Myrsol Antesol
Brush: Wolfwhiskers Ubersoft II
Soap: B&M Latha Le Petit Chypre (thanks @Osman)
Razor: Standard
Blade: Feather
Post: alum, witch hazel, TSW balm, Latha Le Petit Chypre

Many thanks to @Osman for PIFing this to me. I can understand why you didn't liked the scent. Initially I find it overpowering. But upon using it, it's not too bad. Very clean scent, but not intoxicating. The cake is not a lie, and the lather is top notch. I can keep adding water to it and it will take it in. However, doesn't take in as much as Mike's. There is something about the ubersoft knot that keeps drawing me to it. I am really loving this brush.

Shave was excellent, no irritation, one minor tiny weeper. So smooth and enjoyable.

Finished off with the usual suspects, plus the matching aftershave. Great face feel to it, scent is somehow nicer in the aftershave than in the soap. I had a good time with tonight's shave. Happy Sunday everyone.

Pre: Arko "" lather
Brush: Simpson Duke 2 "Pure"
Lather: The Body Shop "Macca Root" cream
Razor: Fine Superlite
Blade: GSB (4)
Post: Alum, Myrsol Formula "C", Natio Calming balm

Quite a good shave tonight. Only bit of irritation is under my nose.
I still can't seem to work out how to tackle that area with the Superlite.
Result is a DFS with minor irritation.

Next up for me is to try those Gillette 7 O'Clock Black's from @Mark1966. Watch this space

Mastro Livi CarboInox Italy

Still on vacation and still enjoying shaving with the two Mastro Livi razors I recently added to my collection. Today was the turn of this breathtaking CarboInox razor with a stripe pattern and the Italian flag inserted on the scales. An absolutely stunning masterpiece, an incredible CarboInox made by joining carbon steel and martensitic stainless steel together, created by the genius and talent of Mastro Livi. Not to mention the impeccable excellence in shaving with a super smooth edge honed to perfection by Mastro Livi. A superb, super smooth, close and velvety shave, a feather caressing the skin. For this shave I also used Tcheon Fung Sing Barbe Rosse shaving cream, with a lovely almond scent, it is a soap with a good performance, not to mention a very cheap price, a classic Italian soap you cannot be wrong in buying it. Mennen Skin Bracer is the after shave I like using in summer because of the pleasing cooling effect provided by menthol, very refreshing with a lovely fragrance.
  • Pre-Shave: RazorGuy Pre-Shave Oil
  • Soap: Tcheon Fung Sing Barbe Rosse

  • After Shave: Mennen Skin Bracer

@Ptr74 what's the Aveeno Active Naturals Aftershave Lotion like any (y) or (n)

For me I just spot use for occasional irritation. It seems to almost immediately stop the burn. It has minimual scent and is non-greasy. I used to buy at Target for about 8 bucks but they discontinued. I later found out it was discontinued by the mfg so I found a source on the net and bought 4 to stock up for twice the price. Should last me a few years since I only use on that rare occasion.

I agree the Krona is a real best kept secret. I fine that any modern blade works.
