Razor: EJ DE89 on barley chrome handle
Blade: Derby (4)
Brush: Simpsons duke 2 pure
Cream: The body shop macca root
Aftershave: Alum, Nivea sensitive balm, Nivea originals splash

Full 3 pass shave this morning. WTG XTG ATG. Minor sting from the alum. Very impressed with the small amount of cream used from the macca root. Got a sample of this when I bought the synthetic brush and just tried it this morning. Not hugely impressed with the scent, but the performance is certainly there. Might try a new blade next shave.

Preshave: Proraso Green
Razor: Edwin Jagger DE89 with Windrose handle
Blade: Dorco Prime Platinum(2)
Brush: Simpsons Duke 3 Best(kindly on loan from @Lifes a Peach )
Soap: Saponificio Varesino Dolomiti
Post Shave: Razorock Lime balm and Floid Vigoroso
Two pass shave with a clean up under chin. Starting to get a feel for the blade. Thoughts to be posted in a few days. Also getting a feel for the Simpsons brush. It is a thing of beauty to behold but I am struggling to fall in love with it. It performs beautifully both face lathering and bowl lathering.

Face Wash : Shower
Brush : Plisson
Soap : Martin de Candre
Razor : Cedric Christ 7/8" Fixe Ivoire
After Shave : La Roche-Posay Lipid Balm + L'Occitane EDT

A very Franco shave today - managed to use only products from France, which was fun. A great shave too, as usual these days. Spent some time honing the new razor, looking for that "creamy but laser sharp" edge. Have managed to get very close indeed now - next time will nail it I think. The L'Occitane EDT was a really nice change of pace as a finisher - not a fragrance I'd wear every day, but enjoyable once in a while...

Pre: Occams Lime
Brush: Simpson Duke 2 Best
Cream: Proraso Red (Sandalwood)
Razor: Merkur 34c
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue
Post: Proraso Red
Splash: Brut 33.

My shaves have been getting worse and worse this last few days (sooth but lasting irritation) so went (roughly) back to where I started. Proof my lathering technique is better (and so is my brush) because I could actually get the proraso cream to build volume! I know!!! It's supposed to be easy enough for a 2yr old to lather but call me baby because I never could get it to go. In the end a good shave, still minor irritation lasting to lunch and beyond though which is disappointing. I thought it was the soap, maybe I've gotten to gun-hoe with the blade... not sure. I'm going back to Feather tomorrow, more care with pressure with no clean up and see what happens.

Can't think of a witty title for this one

Brush:
Vie-Long Epsilon Horse
Soap: Barrister & Mann Seville
Razor: Gillette NEW LC
Blade: Dorco Prime Platinum
After: Thayers and Stirling Sharp Dressed Man

Soap: WSP Rustic Black Ambre Vanille
Razor: 34c
Blade: Permasharp (2)
Brush: RR Synth Monster
Post: Thayers & Speick

Starting to get better with this synth and I must say, loving the performance. I've also neglected this soap and forgot how good its performance was for a vegan product. Really looking forward to trying the tallow version in several weeks.

I didn't get the timing right tonight so didn't have enough time for a straight shave so out came the 1912 fitted with a GEM SS [3].
After the experience of last night's Tanifuji straight shave tonight the GEM was efficient and quite quick. I would have to say the finished shave is as good but the involvement factor is significantly raised with the straight. I road a motorbike for along time and it wasn't so much the destination as the getting there that ultimately was the buzz.
My soap continues to please with an added drop of Tea Tree in the scuttle tonight.
Who wouldn't want to wet shave - :)

Soap: Henry Cavendish Himalaya
Razor: DE89 / Satin SS Handle
Blade: Astra Platinum
Brush: eBay BEST Badger ($6.68!!!)
Post: Wahl Bay Rum

DOH!!! Forgot to get the aftershave in the picture :(

Good clean quick 2 pass shave, big splash of Wahl Bay Rum (I don't really like the Wahl Bay Rum but refuse to bin it - hate throwing stuff out!!!)

I love the SS Satin handle.... it arrived last week from Ireland and have had about 4 shaves with it now ~ weight and length much better than 34C I had been using previously.

Razor: Weber Polished Head on Bulldog Handle
Blade: Vintage NOS French Gillette Super Stainless (4)
Brush: Vintage butterscotch Simpson
Soap/Cream: D R Harris Marlborough
Aftershave: AoS Sandalwood gel
Cologne: Miller Harris Feuilles de Tabac

When the time has a 4 as the first digit it is too early to shave ...

Nonetheless another great shave from the vintage NOS French Gillette Super Stainless blade - simply superb.

The AoS Sandalwood was a gift from my wife after an overseas trip a couple of years back, the only AoS stuff I think I would use. The Miller Harris another gift from her after a trip to London. Maybe I should dub this early morning shave, a gift from my wife - thank you sweetheart, you are a gift to me [not that she will read this - some places wives should not be!].

Face Wash : Musgo Real Lime Menthol Glycerine soap
Pre-Shave : Myrsol Emulsion
Brush : Romera Silvertip
Soap : Musgo Real Orange Amber Cream
Razor : Filarmonica No 13
After Shave : Musgo Real Orange Amber Agua de Colonia

Un afeitada Espanol (A Spanish shave)... I had such fun with the French themed shave yesterday that I decided to do it again, this time saluting sunny Spain : the source of many very fine shaving products indeed. Preparation required no change to my normal routine - the Musgo Real soap and incomparable Myrsol emulsion are already mainstays of my shaving. I had to visit the back of the cupboard to find the Musgo Real cream - I haven't used a cream of any type at all for ages, so it was a rather novel experience. The Romera brush whipped up too much lather in no time at all, but boy did it smell good! A pleasant surprise and a pleasant change from routine. The Filarmonica was its normal impressive self - truly an excellent razor by any measure at all. Two passes saw my jaded dial looking and feeling smooth and totally presentable. And finally, a delightful finish with Musgo Real Orange Amber. You discerning Paste 'n' Cutters out there know how great it is to have both soap and aftershave share the same fragrance - in this case a very pleasing (to me) fragrance and a very affordable product.

Another unexpectedly great shave, based on a whim and a theme - really rewarding fun :)

* This shave dedicated to our very own Captain Kirk (@Lifes a Peach) who also goes boldly wherever he darn well pleases :)

Pre: Occams Lime
Brush: Vintage Simpson Butterscotch - Best
Soap: Wickhams Super Smooth - English Rose
Razor: Merkur 34c
Blade: Voskhod
Post: Proraso Red
Splash: Thayers Witch Hazel AS with Aloe
After my whine yesterday I was reminded of this line;

So I jumped back onto youtube and re-watched some DE tutorial videos to refresh my memory. So today was a new blade Voskhod and a review of technique. Pressure - I made sure I held the handle very lightly. The theory is if I am not applying pressure to the handle, I cannot be applying pressure to my face. The 34c is heavy razor in my limited experience so no extra is required. The other thing was to not stretch the skin, but rather just flatten it. I had noticed on my lower lip and chin that if I pull the skin tight, the hair follicles actually raise up as bumps and that cannot be good. FInal thing was three passes and call it done - no endless touch ups looking for BBS!

Result was a greatly improved shave with (shock) no nics or weepers. Very close to BBS, and I only touched up a couple of places and only with a couple of J-bends. So yes, I had indeed gotten cocky.

The splash. This bottle cost $20, so man was I shocked to see it was a tiny 118ml!! This isn't a scent. It smells of it's ingredients and has no perfume so it's probably better called a post shave tonic/balm and topped with a scent if you desire. Anyway, it works! Soothing very quickly as it says leaving skin soft to the touch. I like it but yes, there could be cheaper and equal alternatives out there.

Pre-Shave : Musgo Real Lime Glycerine soap
Brush : Simpson Duke 2 Best
Soap : Klar Seifen
Razor : Gillette Super Adjustable (5)
Blade: Astra SP (2)
After Shave : Alum, Thayers, Shaver Heaven Arctic Mango Balm

Second shave with the birth razor and still dealing it in. Very smooth and takes corners nicely. I may have to bump up the gap or change out blades. Astras work well in my Fatboy but I might try a Feather or Polsilver in this.
