Razor: Weber Polished Head on Bulldog Handle
Blade: Dorco Prime Platinum (6)
Brush: Vintage butterscotch Simpson reknotted in Pure
Soap/Cream: MdC Original
Aftershave: Myrsol Agua Balsamica

The Dorco is still holding on - although I suspect for not much longer.

The MdC is a brilliant soap - sorry @alfredus I know it doesn't have *enough* tallow but it is still great, and that subtle scent is very alluring. Tempting, teasing it just draws you into its spell.

How to finish off after the MdC? Can't be anything too overpowering, what is something subtle yet robust, of course, the Agua Balsamica. There truly is a Myrsol for every occasion.

Well enough of this enjoyment, back to the final (60%) exam - if anybody wants to know about judicial review of administrative decisions, I'm your man! ;)

Preshave: Proraso Green
Razor: Standard Razor(kindly on loan @Draco Noir )
Blade: Polsilver SI
Brush: Vielong Horse
Soap: Saponificio Varesino 70th Anniversary
Post Shave: Nivea Balm and Fine Fresh Vetiver
Two pass shave. From one extreme to the other on razors. While the AS-D2 is quite a mild razor the Standard is quite an aggressive razor. It is very light and while I had my doubts about being able to hold the handle when wet and difficult to hold, it was not the case. This has a lot of audible feedback but is a smooth shaver. Couple of nicks but not too bad on the first pass. This is a very efficient razor with hardly any whiskers left. Being careful I did a full second pass XTG and nothing more was needed. A splash of cold water was all that was needed to stop the weepers and a feel around told me that this was a BBS shave. The SPV soap is also an excellent performer with a beautiful scent . Finished of with a splash of Fine AS and I am ready for a day of golf.(y)

Preshave: Musgo Real Glyce Soap
Razor: Gillette Super Adjustable (6)
Blade: Astra SP
Brush: SOC Boar
Soap: Cella
Post Shave: Speick A/S

Finally a great shave with the SA. Bumper it up to 6, changed angle, put my go to blade for the Fatboy in and it whizzed around the face with ease.

A big night last night so I needed something that I didn't have to think too much about. Cella basically lathers by looking at it and I love the face feel (mmmmmm......beefy marzipan).

Pre-Shave: GFT Limes Skin Food
Razor: iKon B1 Slant (@Psmith thank you sir and now I am getting very happy shaves with the slant / )
Blade: PolSilver Super Iridium, special thanks to @Lifes a Peach great blades!
Cream of the Day: TOBS Sandalwood
Badger: Simpson Chubby 2 in Best
A/S: Alum, Thayers Witch Hazel with Aloe, The Face Shop 99% Aloe Soothing Gel (Korean Product)

Today's shave theme - East Meets West.
It's been one heck of a good shave today. Getting a lot better with the slant now really happy with it. The Chubby sure needs a bit to fuel up. Don't be stingy just load it up! Rewarded with a very luxurious lather that's just great. Top notch cream here. First go with the Polsilvers, great blades. Really sharp and it works great with the slant.
One thing I've noticed while reading up everyone's SOTD posts, I rarely see Asian shaving products been used, with the exception of blades, ie Feathers and Dorco.
Here today I have decided to use my missus's sun burn cream as my after shave. It's really soothing and calming. Although when applying it has a rather watery consistency that slowly dissipates. Leaving your skin supple and moisturised. Highly recommend it if you have never tried it, something different and it works well.

@alfredus Thanks for that picture about blade angle with WTG,XTG. and XTG. Although it is mainly for Str8Rzrs, but by visualising that in my mind while going ATG, I think i got a very nice and smooth XTG shave today. Happy with that.

One happy camper here, learnt a lot ever since I joined this community.

Face Wash : Shower
Pre-Shave : Myrsol Emulsion
Brush : Shavemac Custom Silvertip
Soap : Catie's Bubbles - Un Jour Gris
Razor : Zubari Hoshimasa #1
After Shave : LaRoche-Posay Lipikar, Terre d'Hermes

Just another perfect Sunday shave... I approached the shave in a very relaxed mood today - even decided to put on some music for the exercise. I have no prior experience with Catie's Bubbles, but have been mildly unimpressed with the descriptions of most of the fragrances. This one, Un Jour Gris has a wonderful fragrance and a wonderful texture. Big thanks to @Lifes a Peach for his kindness in choosing this soap for me (y) The lather is certainly impressive and effective - rich, moist, and packing plenty of cushion and glide.

Scraping chores today were handled by my Zubari Hoshimasu #1. It's a rather unassuming kamisori styled razor, with that short blade that both @khun_diddy and I love. The shortness provides wonderful control and agility, and makes some of the concave spots on my face and neck much easier to deal with well. Wow, it isn't that long ago it seems, that I was thrilled if I could get through a straight razor shave without drawing blood. These days it's taken for granted and I'm more focussed on whether I ended up with a DFS or a BBS shave. Constant improvement isn't a bad way to go at all..

Hope you all had a great weekend so far, and that your weekend shaves are brilliant :)

1. A lot of the straight razors, almost all the Kamisori, all the Japanese Natural ("J-Nat") hones, the Chinese Natural stones (@bald as has one), as well as some of the strops come from Asia. Mostly Japan actually. If you're into the str8 scene you know a LOT of the quality gear comes from Asia.

2. Almost 100% of your badger hair and possibly 90+% of your synthetic hair knots come from China. It's Chinese badgers that the hair comes from, even though the knots themselves are assembled elsewhere (England, Europe, etc).

So I'd say that a LOT of shaves have Asian shaving products included in them (whether recognised or not)... [emoji6]

Hmmm, sounds much like the 'Australia Day' merchandise in most stores ...

Fair point and pardon the new deer in the village, didn't go beyond the brand recognition into the raw ingredients and materials used to create these wonderful shave toys. Makes me look like the village idiot now!
Funnily enough, I have been reading about kamisori razors just after posting that post. Being a katana fan, used to own two beautiful blades, instantly the kamisori drew my attention. Perhaps I might! I will have to pm you filibro on that just to keep this thread purely to SOTD.

Brush: RazoRock Plissoft
Razor: Razorock Mission
Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock Yellow (1)
Soap/Cream: Mitchell's Wool Fat
Post/After Shave: T.N. Dickinson Witch Hazel Astringent / Natio Maximum Razor Relief Healing Lotion
Fragrance: Tabac Cologne EDC

I'm really enjoying the Mitchell's Wool Fat soap because it has the most slickness soap I've come across so far, because it glides very very smooth with my razor has anybody tried this soap?

'The Fat' or 'MWF' is a very polaring soap @SpeedyPC.

Some people really like it and others find it hard to lather, possibly because of 'hard' water. The lanolin in it also affects some people with sensitive skin. If it works for you though you have a really top class soap at an affordable price. (y)(y)(y)

Muhle R89 / Personna Israeli Red
Semogue 1305
Palmolive (Euro) Stick
National Alum (India) / Brut (Euro) AS Splash / Natio Maximum ASB
I really enjoyed using the Palmolive Euro for the first time today. It lathered up a creamy lather which felt fairly slick. Based on first use, I'd rate it slightly higher for slickness in comparison to the Palmolive Euro Cream.

The Semogue 1305 is getting there even though its only the 12th use. Its taking a while, but it held-up OK today for 3.5 passes. I think soap sticks are great when you need to break-in a brush - if your lather isn't enough between passes, using a stick makes it so much easier to re-apply more soap when needed.

For the first time, I managed to give my Muhle R89 top-cap a slight ding today as I grabbed it between passes and ever so slightly wiped it against the corner of the bathroom basin. The plating on a Muhle is flawless, so it was a bit of bummer and almost felt like getting the first scratch on your brand new car. However, its nothing major - just a slight dent on the top-cap, which is hardly noticeable and it won't affect the shave (Plating is still intact). I don't think the Personna Israeli Red's are for me - there was no irritation and they feel smooth enough, but I managed to nick myself a few times even though I had a great lather.

I topped-off today's shave with Brut Euro splash and Natio Maximum ASB. Maximum ASB appears to have a slightly thicker consistency in comparison to the Calming ASB, but it spread easily and its definitely not greasy. It also has a subtle woody/herbal scent (could not put my finger on it), in comparison to the Calming ASB which has a subtle lemon/citrus scent.

Happy Shaving Everyone !!

@Mark1966 I was having some trouble trying to face lathering with MWF I wonder why??, however when I tried bowl lathering it was 100 times easier because you can watch while creating the lather that way you can see how much water is needed. I've read a lot of topic from other shaving forums and they've said when using MWF it easier to control the lather in a bowl instead of doing face lathering, if you've got any MWF try it again from a bowl because it works better and I know it's bloody strange ;)(y)

Thanks for the tip mate. I usually face lather and after a brief dabble with MWF ages ago have not bothered to go back. The ceramic dish does look kinda cool and I *might* get back there one day. If I do - I'll have to use a bowl.

As a general observation I've have to admit that my lathering is far better than it used to be. Inspired by 'Mr Lather' (@alfredus) I've been paying more attention to this area of my shave. Probably using more soap, not a bad thing, and having more excess lather at the end, but generally a far better result! So probably a belated thanks @alfredus for unintentionally inspiring me :)

Don't feel bad at all. Your initial comment got me thinking and I've stressed the hardware side of shaving. But I think your comment (about the fewer Asian shaving products) is certainly true for software. So it's a fair point you made initially.

If you're after Kamisori then I suggest you talk with @Draco Noir @khun_diddy @Mark @Dale.Whiley about them as they are more experienced with them than me! You should jump into them. They aren't that expensive and apparently make fantastic shavers.

Sword: Gillette Flare Tip Rocket / Vintage Wilkinson Sword - thanks @Mark1966 and @bald as
Suds: MWF / Omega S10108
Salve: Floid Blue

That Wilky is one of the best blades I've ever used, DE or otherwise. Comfort and sharpness in one. I eagerly await tomorrow's shave. I might have to source some more of this vintage goodness. It'd been ages since I'd dusted off the ol' Flare Tip. What an outstanding razor!

I'm on a bit of a Floid Blue binge at the moment. Can't get enough of the stuff.
