The Shaver Heaven Extreme made my eyes water

@Mark1966 maybe next time when you used the Extreme soap again, don't forget to wear you're swimming goggles to over come you're watery eyes :cry:;):p

Pre: Musgo Really Glyce Soap
Razor: Gillette Super Adjustable (5)
Blade: Feather (2)
Brush: Epsilon Horsehair 27mm
Soap: Shaver Heaven Citrus Garden
Aftershave: Alum, Thayers Cucumber, Shaver Heaven Arctic Mango Balm

Still trying to dial this razor in. I had a less than stellar shave yesterday using the same rig and Tabula Rasa. The razor felt like it was sticking, not sliding at all. I'm unsure whether it was the Soap or the razor. The Tabula Rasa didn't feel slippy, even after plenty of water. Today I tried some fool-proof Shaver Heaven. A better shave, but still not amazing. I need to get the angle of this right as I love my Fatboy and hear great things about the Super Adjustable. Just can't get it to work for me. Yet. Any thoughts?

Nice avatar @Reegs - you do realise that Chuck Norris shaves with a machete?

Or at least that is what I've heard ;)

Talking of avatars I notice that @filobiblic has updated his with a picture of himself.

I presume that this is in anticipation of the Western Sydney Meet in March - so that others can recognise him in the pub

Correction. Chuck Norris shaves the machete.

The FatBoy requires a much steeper angle than the Black Beauty. Try a shallower angle (ie hold the handle closer to the face).

I got a pure, it's quite good. Maybe the best is slightly less scratchy, but I'm happy with the pure

In my short time with a pure I would agree. The tips are not as soft, which some like. It would be interesting to compare again when both brushes are fully broken in.

Face Wash : Shower
Pre-Shave : Razorock Peppermint Emulsion
Brush : Thater 2-Band Silvertip
Soap : Barrister & Mann - Latha
Razor : Hoshi Tombo 6000
After Shave : LaRoche-Posay Lipikar, Tom Ford Grey Vetiver

A fine low key Saturday shave. B&M's original Latha may have been cheap, but it's a good shaving soap. The razor was simply splendid, as I expect whenever I pick up one of my Hoshi Tombos. Everything finished well - my new favourite skin conditioner, followed by Tom Ford's wonderful, long lasting Grey Vetiver :)

So not just a pretty face...

Hmmm, *some* would say not even, but that would be unkind to a fine man ;)

Although those eyes ...

[Does anybody else think serial killer?]

Pre-Shave: Occams pre-shave soap, cold water
Razor: Wolfman WR1-SB with WRH2
Blade: Voskhod (2)
Brush: Rudy Vey Shavemac 2-band Silvertip 30/53 Fan
Lather: Barrister & Mann Lime, Lavender & Cedarwood
Post-shave: Alum, Barrister & Man Kyovu Original, South Australian Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil

At the moment I am evaluating my different brush/soap combos and I just realised, that I hadn't shaved yet with B&M this year! The soap is definitely far more forgiving than other tallow soaps - I forgot how much water the knot of my Shavemac holds and didn't wring it our before loading. But that's not an issue with this soap. I felt and noticed this must be due to a high(er) stearic acid content, looked at the ingredient list - and there it was: stearic is listed as the no. 1 ingredient...

I also have to thank @stillshunter for this picture:

While this might be more important for straight shavers, I am beginning to realise more and more, that it is also very beneficial to a DE shave. Certainly for the ATG pass in my sensitive areas, a narrower angle is leading to a smoother result!

Maybe it is - IF YOU ARE GIVING THE NOTE BEING PASSED AROUND THE CLASS!

Very 'colourful' shave too BTW!

Lather: Barrister & Mann Lime, Lavender & Cedarwood

I get jealous every time I see this in your SOTD alfredus. I had a sample from maggards it's excellent. They discontinued before I got any :-(
