So a chance to try the new brush with face lathering:

Pre: nothing special, some warm water, soap rubbed on the face and lathering
razor: Merkur 42c
blade: Wilkinson (4th use on the same edge)
soap: La Toja Stick
brush: Yaqi synthetic
splash: Squadron "The Warden"
balm: TSW

The brush did a good job. Id does have more backbone than the frank shaving I have. Actually, I am preferying the synthetic above it.
The soap and the splash match quite nicely on my nose
 
No photograph I couldn't be arsed, too busy smelling amazing.

Managed to get the MWF lather spot-on this evening. A lovely shave resulted, followed by an equally nice post shave.
The SOC boar is getting really luxurious now - worth the effort breaking it in.

Friday's shave:

Pre: nothing special, as I face lathered
razor: Merkur 42c
blade: Wilkinson (5)
soap: APR Fouguere Bourbon Rose
brush: Yaqi synthetic
splash: floid suave
balm: TSW

The brush still works nicely. It take me a bit more to face lather than with La Toja, something expected. I have face lathered La Toja stick for ~20 years before I discovered the rest of the wet shaving world and I can make it lather just by rubbing it on my face and staring my face trough the mirror for a few seconds :P
After some water assistance, the lathers grew up very nicely and made a fantastic shave :)
