Pre: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: Tony Forsyth Platypus P&C LE 2017 Manchurian Silvertip
Soap: Stirling Tuscany
Razor: ATT Kronos M2
Blade: Vintage Gillette Platinum Plus (1)
Post: Myrsol Emulsion
EDC: Farina 1709 Original

The Stirling Tuscany scent is a very pleasant Italian cologne style - to me somewhere between Aqua Di Parma and Aqua Di Geo. It is a subtle scent - I'd maybe prefer it a touch more prominent. The Stirling lather was excellent, and the vintage Gillette blade worked beautifully in the ATT razor. Lots of audio feedback, and a very close and comfortable shave.
The Farina cologne matched well with the soap scent.

Brush: Vulfix 403 Pure Badger
Razor: EJ 89
Blade: Scottish Perma Sharp
Cream: Groomed
A/S: Groomed Balm
Cologne: GFT Eucris

Usual excellent performance from the Groomed range topped off with my absolute favourite scent.
Ahhh - Eucris! Couldn't agree more.

Ahhh what a day!
I have spend the past few Saturday mornings working on a friends car which has been immobile for 2 years and today I got it running and he is over the moon, so good to be able to help someone out.
As to token he gave me a bottle of
Mars Iwai Bourbon Barrel Japanese Whisky
Needless to say I was floored, such a kind gesture and I've never had this whisky.
So as a celebratory shave tonight it will be;

Masonic NEW set
Ad astra
Permashap (2)
Tsw balm

Tomorrow I get to work on another buddies car
Have to say the RFB New is a very under rated razor.

Chatillon Lux Pre Shave Butter
Simpson CH3
Wolfman/UFO
Feather
Castle Forbes Lavender
Chatillon Lux Pure Lavender Salve
Chatillon Lux Pure Lavender Aftershave
Chatillon Lux Lavande Poivre

Something like that yep, but not a fan of the look. Love the barber pole type handles so will have to do a search tomorrow. Cheers though buddy

All things being equal man, you might just be best sticking to the Rockwell and the number 2 plate. It seems like your preference, skin type and comfort zone is for fairly mild shaves, the other razors you have used i.e.Timeless & Wolfman Guerilla are substantially more aggressive and well out of the range that delivers the best shave for you. If you were keen on new razors the Feather AS-D2 or the Asylum Evolution may be worth further investigation but I definitely think you will keep hitting friction and having issues with your shaves using the Timeless or Guerilla due to the blade gap alone.

Pre: Warm Coconut Oil
Soap: Pb Black Spruce
Brush: Zenith Boar
Razor: Heljestrand 6/8"
Post: Jojoba oil
An enjoyable shave this morning. No nicks, no cuts, no weepers, no blood loss........:) I love straight razors.
I've had to start labeling my soaps. I've got a draw full of nondescript tubs which is starting to get annoying trying to find stuff but on the other hand I do have choice. I'm having to learn lathering adelaide style to try and keep my draw from overflowing but that's already failed so I've resorted to the plastic storage tubs under the house. P&C provides so many learning opportunities.:)

Razor: GEM 'E' bar
Blade: GEM (2)
Brush: Vintage butterscotch Simpson '46' reknotted in pure
Soap/Cream: Barrister & Mann '42' shaving soap
Aftershave Splash: Barrister & Mann '42' splash
Cologne: Barrister & Mann '42' EDP

The guerrilla is great as a daily driver for me though mate. Even with the Rockwell I prefer #4 plate as a daily driver (and that's just because I do like flipping between the 2 and 4. Would be great if it was 2 and 5 and 4 and 6). The only razor (including the R41) that I've had significant issue with is the timeless. Thinking it's just the angle and the scallop that cause the issues.

Brush: vie-long, horse/badger
Soap: Henri et Victoria, Warm spicy cider
Razor: Autostrop, VC4
Blade: Autostrop
Post: APR, General Ledger. Weleda balm

Great to use the strop and original blade with the VC4. This is the final closed comb version. It is well behaved and easy to use. Not an aggressive razor but a smooth close shave.

I will give some thoughts on the rest on PCB 4A, shortly.

Have a great Sunday

Maybe try using the Timeless for alternating shaves mate. I have a few razors which I love but could not use every day because they are so efficient. When the more efficient razors come in to my rotation I tend to use the more efficient one day followed by a mild razor the next followed by the more efficient and so on.

Another option that I regularly use when the more efficient razor comes in to my rotation is to have an evening shave and skip the next day altogether and have a morning shave the day after. I find that the 1 1/2 day gap between shaves really helps.

I have found my face likes to get a good period of rest between shaves with an efficient razor. I was having a great first shave with the razor and subsequent shaves were not as good. By giving my skin a rest in between shaves and the opportunity for a decent amount of regrowth I found that I can happily get consistently good shaves with the efficient razors.

This 100%. I need to break out the Rockwell or progress more often in the alternating :) good call

An unexpectedly good shave

Razor:
iKon B1(?) open comb
Blade: GSB (1)
Lather: APR Fougère Bourbon Rose
Brush: 1092 synthetic
A/S: Alum + APR Fougère Bourbon Rose

Had some dramas this morning and so was in a hurry. I hadn't shaved in about 3 days and noticed the iKon B1 sitting on my shelf. I acquired it from @tullfan at the last Canberra meet and, by a series of flukes, haven't been able to use it yet.
Now, if experience has taught me anything, it's that shaving in a hurry rarely ends well. Throw a new razor in the mix and you have a recipe for disaster. So much so that on my first stroke I said out loud to myself "this is a mistake".
But, I was wrong! The iKon performed wonderfully!
It slices through days worth of hair without hesitation. It was very confident and despite significant blade-feel left me with minimal irritation. VERY surprising for a first shave.

This is my first open comb. I have heard that they shave *very* close. Well, the rumours are true. It's the closest and most satisfying shave I've had in months. I'm not sure I could use it two days in a row. But it's fantastic if I've got some growth or need to be silky-smooth.

A special note about the Fougère Bourbon Rose. This stuff is often under-rated by myself. It performs great and I keep forgetting how lovely the scent is.
Thanks @Sxot and @todras!

The Fougère Bourbon Rose is one of my pet favourite designs, it's a classic but elementary representation of the fern family that uses only the Réunion island Bourbon Rose in accord with a couple of other notes to shine, interesting in that the other notes in the accord exist only to further the elegance and diffusion of the Bourbon Rose itself.

Glad you dig it, thank you for taking the time to use the acute for Fougère too :)

I have one of these on the way for my Rockwell, although the Ikon Bulldog is also a wonderful handle at 68g, which is what i currently have on my Rockwell 6S.
