Pre: Warm Coconut Oil
Soap: The Warden
Brush: Zenith Boar
Razor: Asylum Rx
Blade: Feather Pro
Post: Jojoba

Take No:3
Introducing the Asylum Rx.
I had dreamt of this day, imagining this would be a tale of ...........................
Initially I thought using the Asylum was very intuitive ...... and I was right. Using the Pro blade instead of the Pro Super has turned this monster into an efficient shaving machine. Amazing what 0.2mm extra depth (Pro Super) on a blade will do. If only I had done my research before the massacre.
I had ordered the Feather Pro and Captain Titan to try in this razor but the Pro's turned up first. The Pro is still very efficient in this razor. If you were in a hurry a two pass shave would get you on your way. There were a couple of weepers at the end of this shave but this is the shave I was expecting from this razor. I'm looking forward to getting the Captain Titan blades as I'm wondering if they will afford some additional comfort but still be efficient.
Compared to the Colonial General with the Pro Super blade, I'd say the General gives a slightly more comfortable shave. I'm guessing the Asylum with the Titan blades might be the equivalent.
Now that I've sorted the blade issue, the Asylum will definitely be a regular in the line up.
..................a tale of perseverance and conquest?
(Moral of the story is: do not use Feather Pro Super blades in the Asylum RX)

I like a matched set, it's my hallmark and I try and keep doubles of the things I enjoy.

In this instance Fine (L'Orange Noir) does a very good 'type' of the fragrance Terre d'Hermès which pairs with this soap, although I don't particularly like the Fine splashes as I find them very drying for the skin so I went with the makers product. The Fine splashes have good fragrances, but for me I absolutely have to use a balm with them due to their lack of any skin food or moisturizing compounds.

This is why TSW frustrates me occasionally.

You had better get used to it, things drop and sell out fast, it will often be months before a restock particularly if the product travels internationally or is a seasonal.

Still in a lazy mood, so no picture but... another succesful shave today.

Pre: hot water
razor: Merkur 42c
blade: Wilkinson (2 use)
soap: Squadron soap "The Warden"
splash: 'The Warden'
balm: TSW

I had wilkinson blades highly underrated (maybe because they are available in supermarkets? xD) but it is doing a great job on my face. It is just a second use but I fell liking it more than some Guillette or Astra I have tried.

The warden is a great soap with a scent I'm liking it. I am certainly considering restraining myself from overseas products and base my future acquisitions on the Aussie made products (with the exception of buying some spanish artisans balms and soaps when I visit Spain in a hopefully not so distant future). I just need now to get some citric based soap :D

For me is a bit funny to realize that, for example, Aussie artisans or US based ones use to pair their products with splashes (well, I know APR use to made balms in the past, so unfortunately for me to reach P&C forum too late), while in Spain, at least the two I have in my radar (eufros and byluna) don't do splashes, but balms. There may be a reason for that, or not... but as a warm place, splashes should be more relevant up there in Spain? Anyway I am certainly a splash person, so I am happy with it :)
