Soap: TOBS Sandalwood
Brush: Omega #49 Boar
Razor: Muhle R41
Blade: Feather
Pre: Proraso Green cream, Somersets max Glide
Post: Thayers, Geo F Trumper Skinfood...and a wee splash of proraso!

Of all the commercial pre shave oils, Somersets is by far the best!

If you want to go your own route, grab 100ml each of grape seed and Abyssinian oils from awo.com.au and an essential oil of your choice and you'll have a massive 200ml of really nourishing pre shave oil for under 20 bucks!

Pre: my lemon Myrtle pre shave oil
Rockwell R4 w/Polsilver
APS Co. Tuxedo
Beta Artisan soap
Anherb balm

Really awesome soap! Beautiful medicinal herbal scent (not a herb garden type such as LPL original for example), I just love it and I've not come across any other shaving soap with a medicinal herbal scent. I'm very happy to have this tub (and another I tested)!!

A very nice, creamy lather resulted after adding lots of water. It's actually quite thirsty so I added quite a bit of water and it took it on perfectly!

Definitely two thumbs up from me!!

Pre-Shave: SebaMed, cold water
Razor: Guerrilla
Blade: Ladas (2)
Brush: Maseto
Lather: Stirling Scots Pine Sheep
Post-Shave: Alum, Thayers Original Alcohol Free Witch Hazel, South Australian Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Scent: Australian Private Reserve Winterf*ll EdP

What a wonderful weekend shave - today was my first official winter shave of the season, so of course I had to drag a real winter soap. This Stirling base produces some phenomenal lather and the Guerrilla/Ladas combo just works a treat for me - happy days.

On winter date nights I usually wear this amazing scent by Australian Private Reserve, as it is my wife's favourite and I also absolutely adore it!

I hope you all have a stellar Saturday (y)

Saturday's:
Pre: nothing (face lathering)
Razor: Weber/UFO

balm: TSW
EdP: APR Fresca

Very nice shave. didn't tried to face lather this cream and I am very happy with the output

post-shave routine wasn;t needed at all, but I really enjoy it. I am still pretending is Summer down here, so the EdP for today was Fresca. Enjoy the weekend :)

Razor: Rockwell 6S (#4)
Blade: Voskhod
Soap: Haslinger ~ Sage
Brush: Maseto Beehive
Post: Dickinson's

Hand lather again so no free hands for a picture..... 2 pass XTG, no nicks/cuts/weepers.

I quite enjoy the hand lathering, good to feel the consistency of the lather as you're lathering! The small Haslinger puck is disappearing rapidly.... will be onto the equally small honey or seaweed pucks in no time.

Almost finished the Dickinson's too..... only one more bottle of it to go before I can start getting into my Thayer's stockpile.

Pre Shave: Warm water
Razor: Gillette Black beauty (2)
Blade: Perma Sharp (1)
Bowl: The prototype.

Gillette Black beauty feels aggressive compared to the Fatboy. :cautious:

Brush: Semogue 620
Soap: Squadron, Spitfire
Razor: Ever Ready 1924
Blade: Gem SS
Post: Squadron, Scramble.

I don't know how many shaves I have on this Gem blade but it is at least 9 and going strong.
I just ordered 100 from Connaught, as I believe we will be paying GST at the end of the month and I think that may be applied to the postage too, at 3 SE shaves a week and 9 shaves to a blade they should last nearly 6 years!
So, by ordering early I have saved nearly $3 over 6 years, hmmm

Pre: Pb Pre Shave Emulsion
Soap: Pb MnM
Brush: Omega 10083
Razor: TI Bijou de France
The MnM shaved well this morning. I initially over hydrated and aerated I think as I'm used to the Bloom bowl but what was interesting is the way it recovered. I finished lathering on the face and the lather came up a very consistent yoghurty lather and had to add a bit more water for final pass. @borked , the post shave feel was good and I could easily get away without any post shave application. Still not sold on the scent (it's fine, just not quite what I thought it would be), maybe this soap needs menthol and pulling out in summer. It smells like a cousin of Grapefruit which surprises me given the amount of other EO's in the mix, I was expecting heavier and warmer.

Yaqi Tuxedo
AP Reserve Ozymandias Soap/Balm/Splash/EdP

Nailed the lather this morning. Slick and shiny. Maybe I'll try a bit more water though next time.

The woodiness is coming through more for me today. The cherry is still constant which is really growing on me. Got a you smell nice from the misses as well.

The colder it gets the more the woods will come out, give it a month or so and the Oudh and Sandalwood will come right through during the dry-down majestically.

Nice and steady two passes for a relaxing shave today.Managed a slick and creamy lather from the Mitchell's and love the feel of my skin afterwards, something about lanolin.Combined with the Nivea Men cream it leaves my face soft and smooth. If I was a woman I would say it makes me feel more beautiful. But I am not,so I will just say that it makes me feel good.

So I've had some trouble with this particular soap base in the past, but I've got to say huge thanks to Cris from Another Cut Above; I followed his method of painting the lather on, adding water slowly and then swirling away. I was able to produce a much nicer lather than before, albeit not quite as voluminous as his lathers. Looking forward to trying it with a natural hair brush and a hard soap to see if I can replicate the results. I think I finally understand what slickness provides now - the parts where the razor often struggled to cut through (especially XTG and ATG) weren't as much of an issue. Razor and blade combo were nice, but I think a higher plate with a 'milder' blade might work better for me.

Have a nice week ahead everyone.

Oh yeah baby!

After slashing my thumb last Friday (Shave of the Day Thread - 2018) I actually didn't shave while I was away over the weekend (not a sink to shave in at our accommodation in Kiama) so this is my 'back on the horse' shave with a couple of days growth.

No stupid hands near the blade and a lovely shave - the Fenchurch is amazing, well done as usual @todras !

Pre: Pb Pre Shave Emulsion
Soap: Pb Brazilian Bay Thyme
Brush: 26mm TF HMW
Razor: Tanifuji
Brazilian Bay Thyme went well this morning. Was really enjoying the scent. Reminiscent of P&B Baskerville. The lather is a different animal. Takes a little work to lather up then when I went to apply to face I was thinking it was too wet but after face lathering it was 'carpet & underlay'. It was the same in subsequent passes, looked too wet in the bowl but plenty of body when painted on. Worked well with the straight.
