Pre: my lemon Myrtle pre shave oil
Rockwell R4 w/Polsilver
WSP silvertip
Test soap
Anherb balm

I rarely use any animal hair brushes after cconvertingto synthetics but I wanted to try the test soap with my badger brush so pulled out the WSP Silvertip (I got the knot in a trade and glued it into a handle from aliexpress).

I loaded heavy...about 3 times the product VS synthetics but was rewarded with a great, creamy lather!

The only good thing about badger brushes is that no lather leaks out the sides like it does with synthetics, otherwise I find synthetics superior in every way.

Prep:
Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: Paladin Lotus Select Badger
Soap: Declaration Grooming/Chantillon Lux Yuzu/Rose/Patchouli
Razor: Rockwell 6C (4)
Blade: Polsilver Super Iridium (2)
Post: Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel / Myrsol Emulsion
Scent: Acca Kappa1869 EdP

World Cup Shave! It's 3am here in Perth, and after some pretty average matches so far, I've squeezed in a shave prior to the Iberian Derby between Portugal and Spain. It's now halftime, and what a first 45!
Back to shaving. The Yuzu/Rose/Patchouli scent of the Declaration soap is superb, both off the puck and when lathering. And loads of glorious bison tallow lather.
The Paladin continues to break in nicely - it is a class act.
After the last shave with the Rockwell, I was a little more aggressive with my approach, and was rewarded with an improvement to DFS+ after three passes. I have the feeling that I'm not quite finding the angle at times.
I was looking for a match for the soap scent to finish. Some Portuguese and Spanish options came to mind, but to stay neutral, I chose a fragrance from a country who unbelievably did not qualify for the tournament. And what a beautiful fragrance - Acca Kappa 1869.

Razor: Vintage NEW head on TSW Bren handle
Blade: Vintage NOS Wilkinson Sword blade (1)
Brush: Vintage butterscotch Rooney boar/badger combination brush
Soap/Cream: Phoenix & Beau Baskerville shaving soap
Aftershave: Pitralon 'Swiss' splash

Now SOTD includes a couple items received in the post this week.
Shave Bowl - Purchased eBay (China) at a ridiculous A$7.00 delivered and works great for the job.
Nacet Blades (Russian) - Very thin blade, I found them ok no issues tugging or cuts all round a very good shave.
I Coniali Shave Soap :)
RW 6c Brilliant Brilliant the best and only razor in the free world for me.:)
Vie Long Silver Tip :)
Floid Orange :)

Mmmm. Saturday shave with some favourite products. Maxim's adds some manly sophistication to the raw throbbing donk of Roam.

Thought of the day: I'm almost two years into wetshaving and it's funny to think how my tastes have changed. I've gone from SAD to RAD and VASAD (vintage after shave) - indeed, I keep reducing my soaps rather than adding these days and basically only keep absolute favourites. I've resisted purchasing new soaps from Wholly Kaw, Declaration, Shaver Heaven and even my beloved APR so far which I never would have done a year ago. While I think the whole sabbatical year thing is still too full on, I'm maybe starting to understand the thinking behind it.

Oh, and I hope the meetup in Sydney goes well!!
