Pre: Hot Shower/ Proraso Pre Shave Green
Razor/ Blade: Bengall 5/8, tidy up with Gillette Slim Derby blade
Brush: Galaxy Silver tip Baadger
Soap: Proraso Green
Post: Alum stick, Proraso Eucalyptus/ Menthol

Pretty much managed to badly shave my whole face with the straight. I can see once I get my technique down it will be addictive.

Don't be too hard on yourself, most need a good 50 - 100 straight razor shaves for it to become "automatic" and by that I mean smooth stroke, the correct pressure, correct angle and both hands working the same. But yes you are 100% correct it is very addictive. You know when you are totally hooked when you are not prepared to waste any shaves with anything less than a straight. Everything else will have the appeal of a cartridge shave :)

Soaps that work well for DE's often don't have enough slickness for a straight. Just a suggestion try a different soap.

I'm enjoying it so far and it is something I've always wanted to master and it's not like I don't have a few to try. It's funny you mention soap. I noticed the difference with the DE and Squadron soap as opposed to the Proraso. The Squadron doesn't block the blade up like the Proraso does. I've just had some APR aftershave delivered so thats it for a while for spending. But when the finances allow me to fund something new I'll put out the call for suggestions.

Holy Shit!!!. I was 50% excited because of the beauty of this razor, and 50% scared because it looks really aggressive, so I went for a reliable, smooth Astra green.... With some alum matches next to me just in case, and after two passes I got a bloddy BBS, with no irritation etc. I wonder if this razor, with a Feather blade, could be use to slice stuff like italian Piedmont white truffles, or making carpaccio from Kobe beef!!!!
I wonder if it could make sometimes some irritations because of skin fatigue, I guess I will know in the future as it will be a regular one on my shaves.

The soap perform just great in face lathering, and the after/ EdP made the smelling much better. I know I mostly rate my shaves as great, but this has been so far different. Really happy so far with this razor, and of course with the software, but a bit bitter/sweet, sweet as I love them, bitter as I am really happy to see the response overseas on the last releases from APR, but It may jeopardize my chances for next ones as I am not always ready to jump on the releases as they came out. Good thing is I have soaps, splashes and EdPs from APR for a few years already

Cheers and have a great shave today!!

Other than changing up the blade and the aftershave routine, everything else remains the same for some time now which has helped me get some decent shaves with minimal weepers (these are the very tiny “dot” cuts as opposed to the “line” type cuts, and only release a droplet of claret right ??)

It’s also helping me move towards using up some soaps to clear way for future inventory acquisitions!

Have a great end to the working week, it’s my Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday all rolled up in one

Wow what a super comfortable & enjoyable DFS. Amazing what a pea sized amount of soap can produce as the lather whipped up a treat and the scent, though on the milder side, was very pleasant with great post shave feel. I'm really loving the slickness of the Emulsion. Certainly onto a winner there @Pbgoose so thanks again (y) First shave with this blade and it was surprisingly smooth yet very efficient. Look forward to using in a few different DE's to be certain it wasn't a one off fluke... A very happy shave!
