I've known you long enough on P&C, scared shitless middle age-old fart. Start stretching your SE shavette, GEM's and DE blades, otherwise you'll never see the light at the top of the rabbit hole.
Yes, I guess you're right Speedy, we have known each other on P&C a long time. So I know you'll take this the right way...........:finger::smuggrin:
I do occasionally think about stretching the blades a bit further, especially when I see someone else getting 15 shaves/blade! But then again, isn't that what our shavepocalypse blade stash is for? I've got more than enough blades to see me through.

Get off your scared shitless middle age-old fart and start stretching, how many years of wet shaving now??? Please don't tell me you're STILL a bloody middle age-old fart wet shaving Grasshopper

I've been stretching my blades to the maximum and I STILL don't get any nicks, cuts and irritation.... because I've stopped chasing for

As with everything, YMMV but I know what you mean. With this razor and these blades (Pro or Pro Super), I have the following experience:
- First 1-2 shaves: apply no pressure, stubble just wipes away but can still get some irritation / weepers if technique isn't right on the money - ie blade can be harsh
- From there to 7-10 shaves: apply no pressure, stubble just wipes away and technique doesn't need to be perfect to avoid irritation
- From there to 15 shaves: stubble still just wipes away but can even use some slight pressure / poor technique and it generally won't hurt although gross mistakes will still be punished, as always! BBS still fine.
- After 15 shaves: have to start using too much pressure / blade starts pulling ATG, although WTG generally still fine, although doesn't shave as close WTG anymore. Always chasing BBS and for that ATG is required, so toss the blade...

I prefer Pro Super but am finishing a pack of Pro blades just for kicks. The Supers can give a lower angle ATG, making those first couple of shaves a bit easier...

BTW I almost sold this razor / blades not long ago but very glad I didn't. Really enjoying the challenge it provides now... and taking a break from it seems to have made my technique better. This is one razor that I've noticed continually helps improve technique! Even if it can appear slow going sometimes...

One day I'll get a straight and hones etc...

Pre: Hot shower followed by hot soaked towel
Bowl: stone
Soap: Phoenix Cavendish
Brush: Semogue 730HD silvertip badger
Razor: Merker 23C
Blade: Feather (7)
Post: Alum block
A/S: Witch hazel
EDT: Demeter Pipe tobacco

well I absolutely love the cavendish soap it is such a beautiful pipe tobacco scent and reminds me of my grandad smoking his pipe in the workshed when I was little. The fragrance by Demeter is quite strong when first applied but it mellows after awhile to a rich fresh tobacco smell that is woody, caramel with hints of dark cherry fresh from a humidor that lingers like fresh pipe smoke ( It lasts for hours )The rest of the shave was smooth but I finally decided to ditch the blade at the end of this shave as I felt some irritation from my ATG pass, mind you 7 three pass shaves on one blade is up there with the best I’ve attained so I’m a happy man!

Another rare SOTD from me. A beautiful BBS retro shave with one of my fav wild find razors. As I look around P&C I see I’ve missed out on heaps! Feel bad about missing the @Tony Forsyth bulk buy brush AGAIN. Hahaha. Hope everyone is keeping well.
that's a lovely looking razor. What is it?

Razor: Muhle R41 Rose gold
Blade: Polsilver SI (1)
Post: Alum block
A/S: Proraso green

why is it the nights I put in a new blade I’m shaky 😂 mind you this razor still has me in its grips and not the other way around. Everything else was grand and I achieved a BBS shave, though there was blood! I keep managing to reduce a mole on my neck little bit by little bit😂😉
Ps the new proraso green aftershave is sooo soo nice once again I cannot fault proraso👍 Happy days😎
