Hi @klinker , thanks. This is one of @Tony Forsyth 's creations. I purchased the badger/boar knot from Maggards and Tony made the handle and set the knot. I really enjoy the mix of luxury and a little scrub from this brush and wouldn't mind doing the same again in 24mm.
This is the brush that inspired me to try a @Tony Forsyth hybrid. (y)

I have an APShaveCo. 24mm mixed badger/boar that's one of my favorites.

I used to not be a big fan of this soap, I always ended up with a dry lather when using a badger brush. This morning I used a synthetic and whipped up an absolutely stellar lather. Enough for 4 passes. Consequently the shave was fantastic. Clearly I have been getting the water ratios all wrong. Time to go back to the drawing board and try to recreate this morning's lather whilst using a badger.

Looks like Rubie Plus is loosing the edge, otherwise, flip the blade over ready for the next shave you might get lucky on 6.
Thanks for the suggestion mate. I'm leaning towards a theory that the Rubie Platinum Plus blades are smoother than the Rubie Plus'...?
Yesterday's shave in the GC .84P was so smooth that I had to check if the blade was in but in both the CG & Apollo it felt a tad rough...

Rubie Platinum Plus blades are smoother than the Rubie Plus
Could you please take a photo of each packet, never seen Rubie Platinum Plus, otherwise is just Rubie Plus? You might have a fake blade, otherwise, the shave might not be too bad using a fake Rubie blade.

Not sure whether the packaging has changed as the few tucks I received from @Nico had Platinum PLus on them and they shaved super smooth in aggressive razors. Believe he got them from razorbladeclub!?

Other blades received from @tim33z say Rubie Plus and they are rougher shave so not sure if they're same blade or fakes...? Sadly no longer have the packaging to compare. :( There seems to be some information at:

Both strange and both looks a bit different, I’m fully aware the TM and R next to the word Rubie are for different regions.

I’m not 100% sure, IF, they’re both made in the same factory in Russia. I’ve heard a lot of things about fake Gillette Rubie have been floating around on eBay and Amazon

The picture below is the real deal, because, both R showing below next to the word Rubie are both made and the packet printed from Russia.

The picture above is might be FAKE!! Rubie, otherwise, I’m not 100% sure which is which????

Yeah very odd but I can confirm the Platinum Plus blades shaved smoother compared with the Rubie Plus...???

Not the worst blade by any stretch, just not as smooth.

I would say the Rubie Plus must be fake, I also checked this post below this must be the latest production.

Unfortunately I have yet to order any Rubies so don't know where they originated from but as far as I am aware the Platinum Plus' are being sold from razorbladeclub.

It wouldn't surprise me if the Rubies are fake or they could just be a different release year as mentioned in the B&B thread...

Upon closer inspection the tuck I have looks legit with no creasing or fraying, poor printing so am leaning towards the blades being different vintage.
