Barrister & Mann - Reserve Waves splash

I did a bowl lather today for a change. It was slightly over-hydrated to my liking anyway. Very close shave with just a small weeper but overall all good

We got some decent rain on the GC last night and set for another drenching today.

Have a great day!

i love my timeless, had a killer shave with it this morning. Cant wait to get my hands on the wolf to draw my own comparisons but i dont think i will ever part with the timeless. @Nico have you ever used a 0.95 Timeless? was curious to which blade gap it would compare with on a WR2 head

I do have Timeless 0.95 gap scalloped plate. Its a bit much for me as a daily driver. For me the 0.68 plate would be closer to the WR2 standard gap.

Razor: Merkur 34C // Rockwell 6S (R6 plate)
Blade: Perma Sharp (1 // 2)
Pre: Shower
Bowl: Pereira Shavery Lathering Bowl
Soap: APR Lightning Ridge
Post: APR Restoration Peptide Concentrate Serum 15ml Tester A

Last two shaves were hard to separate with slight edge going to the 6S on R6 plate just for efficiency and closeness. Forgot how great these blades are as they shave super smooth and I'll be certainly adding some more to the collection once the last few go blunt. Top marks on the soap as is customary with APR and the scent is very pleasant during this scorching summer!

Started a new job this week and a co-worker is sensitive to perfumes so to avoid any issues I've kept away from scented products with the Serum being a real blessing - also performs a treat even if I've been using an extra pump, more than was recommended... :giggle: Happy shaves!

Razor: Timeless 0.95 SB
Blade: Polsilver
Brush: Yaqi 26mm Pony
Soap: Wickham Soap Co 1912 - Club Cola
Post: A&E Signature Splash

Couldn’t resist giving the Cola soap a go and was very impressed. I love the smell of Cola and this didn’t disappoint. An awesome cola scent permeated the room. First time I had used any Wickham soap and I was certainly impressed, easy to lather, plenty of protection and slickness.

Sampruary is ongoing. Today, APR Bay City soap. Lathered up nicely for a very comfortable 2 pass shave. My favourite blade in the WR2 that I have found thus far is definitely the Polsilver. Must track down more...

Zingari Man - The Nomad
Thayer’s Original Toner

Being a newbie to wetshaving my only experience with the bay rum scent has been a soap sample of Captain’s Choice Bay Rum. I didn’t like that, it was just a little bit too much. Yesterday I received the Nomad, described as a lighter take on the scent with spices dialled down and more lime forward.

After the first shave I found the scent to be very pleasant. It was pretty much how I imagined it to be, very much lime forward and just a hint of bay rum. Very approachable for shavers that are not sure about bay rum. Today was a cloudy cool morning, but I imagine it will be well suited for hot weather. The scent strength was quite mild, milder than expected after smelling it from the tub. I wish I could get a matching splash.

The soap comes in the same container as the recent milksteak-base soaps from Declaration Grooming. And just like that base, the sego base from Zingari Man is very very soft, I think softer than TOBS creams. I didn’t nail the lather today, next time I will try with a synthetic brush. While I didn’t get the unbelievable slickness I get from the milksteak base, I found the performance and aftershave feel to be top notch.

Prep: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Antica Barbieria Colla Almond Oil Pre-Shave Cream
Brush: Saponificio Varesino Two-band High Mountain Manchurian White Badger
Soap: I Coloniali
Razor: Wolfman WR1
Blade: Iridium Super BN-84 (1)
Post: Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel; Floid Mentally Vigorous
Scent: Alvarez Gómez Barberia EdC

If I were rating the thirstiest soap in my den, it would be hard to go past I Coloniali. However, once hydrated, you are rewarded with wonderful slick lather.
A very close and comfortable shave that I enjoyed immensely. Those Polish-made Iridium Super blades really are excellent.

Funny thing is I don't think I've actually met her yet as she went home sick half through Monday but I'll lay back on the splashes just in case
