Yes, that is the bottom of the tub of MdC that you can see. No, it is not going to last the year. Reckon I'll be done by the end of June. Must echo @Gargravarr the Vector is just a fantastic razor. I could be tempted (when available) to get this in Ti as well. Or, I might just try the open comb to mic it up. Has anyone tried the OC Vector?

Pre-shave: Warm water.
Brush: Wahl Traditional Barbers Nylon
Soap: RazoRock Black Label
Razor: Rockwell 6C (4/3/2)
Blade: King C Gillette (3)
Post-shave: Alum Stick and QV Skin Lotion

Weird scented soap, I didn't fancy the smell at first but something really drew me in tonight and caused me to want to lather it up and smell it up close. Now I oddly quite like it, it's just different and that's nice haha.

On a different note, I'm worried I don't like the Rockwell 6C and wasted my sister's $$$ (it was a present). It just doesn't feel as smooth as the King C Gillette and a lot more tuggy (with the same blades). I think I don't like the fact more blade protudes from the top cap, makes it feel less solid and difficult to angle on non-flat surfaces like my chin/jawline. I'll keep giving it a shot and changing up my technique because it's likely my fault and will take some practice, but first thoughts are regretful!

I think it's the blade. I found that the King C blade was tuggy for me too on 3rd use.

It’s an amazing razor, mid-aggressive and buttery smooth, especially with the right blade.. let me know what u think once u use it

You got some nice guitars, especially the MIJ, Japanese stats are quality
Gonna use the Rocca tonight with the blade it came with.

Thanks! I scored the MIJ and MIK years ago for $600 and $300 respectively, far less than what they're going for these days. They're definitely keepers.

The OC got positive mentions on that other forum. (y) It came out about a week after I got my Vector, and I was briefly tempted, but the SB version works so well for me, I decided to leave it alone. Since I shave daily, the OC just wasn't necessary. If I feel like amping it up, I can always stick a Pro Super in it.

Pre-shave: Hot water, Pears soap
Brush: CaYuen "Copper Ore", 30mm AP Shave Co SynBad
Soap/Cream: D.R. Harris - Windsor
Razor: Blackland Vector
Blade: Kai PINK
Post-shave: Shower, Homebrew moisturiser, La Roche-Posay Anthelios SPF50+

First time out with the new brush: it was this soap I had in mind when I set the knot. I figured it would be soft enough to splay easily no matter what loft I set, so I just set the knot all the way into the handle to give it some focus, and make it easy to load from a small tub. The size and density of the knot give it reasonable backbone, while still being super-soft. By inclination it's more of a painter, but it accommodates scrubbing without any effort.

Pre/Post Shave: Nivea Men Skin & Stubble Balm
Brush: Yaqi Moka Exress
Soap: Squadron Empire
Razor: Muhle Rocca V4
Blade: Muhle Stainless

@StratMan The one word in my head as I used the Rocca; balance. At no time at all did I feel I had to corral the razor into doing what I wanted, nor worry about a slippery handle. In my limited experience so far, this is the best handling razor I've used. The shave itself was smooth and intuitive. The blade is on the mild side, certainly felt it from the way it cut, but I still did get a few small nicks. I read around this seems to have happened to a few people. Maybe because its uncoated?

The Squadron soap was great; held its moisture right up till my 3rd pass with a bit of water needed during buffing. The Nivea Skin & Stubble balm I bought on a whim worked a treat I think; definitely don't feel the razor burn I normally get on my upper lip due to buffing.

For using a bloody cartridge razor.

Lol'd. :) It is the 'Original' cartridge razor though? :) While you won't find one of the 3 or 5 blade headed monsters in my den, I do like the original dual blade Trac II. it's what i began shaving with as a teen lad in 1978. It's a nostalgia thing... :)

I actually tried to post a pic, but it wouldn't let me.
