Pre-shave: Hot water, Pears soap
Brush: Yaqi Rainbow Pony
Soap/Cream: Noble Otter - Two Kings
Razor: Blackland Vector
Blade: Schick Proline
Post-shave: Shower, Homebrew moisturiser, La Roche-Posay Anthelios SPF50+.

Heavy frost outside, -3ºC. This soap is perfect as a winter shave. Though I notice @Holiday seems to be getting along fine with it up at the top end...

spent nearly 10!years of my life there so was quite hard to let go, but couldn’t see eye to eye with the new manager so there was no other way

Will now enjoy some time off, quality time with the family and some fishing, recharge and find another job
I was like that with my last job. I left the building, sat and watched the ducks paddling around in the river thinking "what am I going to do next?", but then with relief "hey, I never have to go back there!". Even though my next job turned out to be semi-retirement...

Very brave of you mate considering the climate but probably for the best...
Rest up and best wishes landing something that makes you happy! (y)

Hey mate.. well I don’t have to worry about that shit anymore, resigned today 👍
Brave decision mate. Enjoy your time off to recharge and best of luck with future endeavors

Well the dry is our colder season 31/19
Riding the teeth or SB is scraping the hair off and irritating the skin IMO, whereas riding the cap slices the hair without pulling and glides smoothly over the skin. And shaving with the blade at a shallow angle will allow you to safely use any razor no matter how "aggressive" it claims to be.
By riding SB/Comb I am not referring to perpendicular I just start at the SB/Comb and roll up to blade rather than start on cap and roll down, I have found riding the cap can provide a false sense of security and then slice the top off a mole or pimple, Either way the blade is doing the work its just how acute the angle is. Straight definitely 15 - 20 degrees whereas DE I am probably 35 - 40. YMMV but personally I have found this works best for me.

And that's what matters. (y)

#1960 Fatboy F4
Pre-shave:-
Shower
Brush:- TroyTools "Mink Nebula"
Soap:- Noble Otter - Two Kings
Razor:- Gilette Fatboy @5
Blade :- Gillette Super Stainless (3)
Post shave:- Noble Otter - Two Kings
p6XTwCP.jpg

Cannot help but compare Fatboy to Slim and I might slightly prefer the thicker handle of Fatboy but would have to conduct side by side comparison to be sure.
Hard to compete with nostalgia of birthyear and quarter of 1966 L1 when it comes to birthday shaves but FB is just as good, if not better.
Thanks @Mark1966 have wanted a Fatboy in the den ever since acquiring the slim

Not too sure of the wisdom in dwelling to much on our birth years. Denial is one thing I don't bother with, but as time goes on, and things get a little creakier, I'm not sure we really need those reminders... :D (From a '63 baby.)

Don't think there were any razors from my birthyear that I really crave, ('58) might get a TV Special Super Speed. The New Deluxe is the newest razor that I want, and I doubt it will shave any better than the New Improved.

Even bought the matching watch - more of a competition to see which ticker lasts longest, not a lot of wisdom in that. :) At least I stopped at matching motorbike and car  although did have a '66 trumpy once but never got it running

Wowzers mate!!! Hope it was for the best and that you have something else lined up!?:eek::eek:

unfortunately I don’t have anything lined up just yet I’ve been through enough in life to know that no job is worth your mental health. There is an opportunity for a job with my old manager which I’ve applied for but if successful will be a month away.

The new guy wanted to manage me out and made it very clear, and from the feedback I got yday the asshole put a lot of bullshit spin on what happened (to try make himself look good) when announcing it to the team, basically stating it was my decision and they supported me in letting me go early, but the truth will come out.

thing was I really liked my job, and was planning on retiring there but unfortunately had the bad luck to get that prick come on board.

Woke up to my first day unemployed in over 25 years and it ain’t a good feeling but that’s to be expected I guess

Yeah best to make your way then man, understandably hard seeing you were there a while but hey take it easy.
Things will come right and as you say follow the right path for your own health, its not worth it otherwise.
I did the same thing, took me a while to get back into it all but best advice is take it slow, enjoy the time with your family and do whats best for you and the family and the rest will come in time, if you rush it you dont end up with what youre after and in the same situation again.
