Pre: Hot Shower, Nivea Skin & Stubble
Brush: Yaqi Everest
Soap: Squadron Empire
Razor: Lupo 72
Blade: Gillette Platinum
Post: Nivea Skin & Stubble, Aloe Vera

Gillette platinum wasn't as sharp as I thought it'd be. Would serve better in a more aggressive razor.

not sure if you have tried already but give a nacet a go in the 72, match made in heaven

Pre-shave:- Shower
Brush:- Paladin Tortoise Tut 26mm badger brush
Soap:- Declaration Grooming - Cuir et Epices
Razors: RazoRock - Lupo 95
Blade:- Gillette Minora (2)
Aftershave:- Declaration Grooming - Cuir et Epices

The modern razors have lost their sheen and become a bit lackluster compared to the variety in vintage razors. May be the blades  more testing required - back to the spreadsheet
I think @Mark1966 may have spoiled me by choosing some of the best vintage daily drivers he had in the shed
On the fence with Cuir et Epices a little too much anise post shave but throughout the day reminds me of a weak Bay Rum (y)
Don't know if I want to smell like "The Dukes" kitchen after he has cooked a fresh apple pie

"Cuir et Épices" is the first scent exclusive to our new premium soap base. It is a blend of leather, tobacco flower, cedar, anise, oakmoss, and patchouli.
This scent is unique unto itself and somewhat difficult to describe.
The beta feedback was all over the place, but we think the closest to capturing the scent was:

"This is what I imagine John Wayne's kitchen smelling like - soft leather, vaguely appley, with a twist of some kind of baking spice."

However, this is absolutely not a gourmand scent, so don't let the "appley" or "baking spice" fool you. We would rate this scent as neutral tending toward masculine.

I am so happy, someone else is giving decent soap reviews.(y)

Pre-shave: Hot water, Pears soap
Brush: CaYuen "Copper Ore" 30mm SynBad
Soap: Mystic Water - Sardinian Honey
Razor: RR SS Hawk V3
Blade: Feather Professional Super
Post-shave: Shower, homebrew moisturiser, La Roche-Posay Anthelios SPF50+
COTD: Mokha Ismaili, Yemen

First up for my Sample September, this soap apparently does contain Sardinian honey, which doesn't seem an obvious choice as a soap ingredient, but whatever. There's also a fragrance oil in there, giving it all a light, floral note. Smells nice, but the bad news is that something in there irritates my skin. That almost never happens to me. I know it's not the base, as the MW Jeff's Lavender is a firm favourite. So out it goes, I guess. Bummer. :( On to something else tomorrow...

Pre: Hot Shower, Nivea Skin & Stubble
Brush: DSCosmetic T4
Soap: St James of London Mandarin & Patchouli
Razor: Razorock Gamechanger 84P OC
Blade: Gillette Platinum (2)
Post: Nivea Skin & Stubble
Wife: I see you brought out your shaving utensils

Very good WTG and XTG. ATG was a little touchy, the wide head was a little awkward under my jawline.

Prep: Barrister Reserve Cool soap, Alt Innsbruck Emulsion
Brush: Shavemac 3-band Silvertip Badger
Cream: Musgo Real Spiced Citrus
Razor: Merkur Futur (2)
Blade: Polsilver Super Iridium (1)
Post: Proraso Green Aftershave Lotion, Alt Innsbruck Emulsion
Scent: D.R. Harris Arlington Cologne

No prizes for guessing where I am at the moment, @Mark1966 .

Mike's Natural Soaps, Pine & Cedarwood
Simpson, Milk Churn, Best
Charcoal Goods, Level 2, closed comb
Rapira Lux

There's a reason that I own multiple Charcoal Goods level 2, the balance between blade feel and efficiency (for me) is just perfect. They work so well with all the blades that I have tried as well.

Razor: Muhle Rocca V4 R94
Blade: Gillette Red & White Stainless (5)
Pre: Shower
Soap: P&B Spitfire

A couple of fantastic shaves to finish off the month as I look forward to Sample September...

Stay Safe & Happy Shaves!

Wife: I see you brought out your shaving utensils

Some of these domestic exchanges can be very funny. Yesterday I got in trouble over my little display of brushes on the guest bathroom window-sill: "Why do you need FOUR shaving brushes? That's just silly, you can stop." My response was "Why do you need seven pairs of shoes at the bottom of the stairs?" ;)

Later it occurred to me that if she can only count as far as four, then I'm good. :ROFLMAO:

I had a similar reaction to Mystic Water - Sardinian Honey sample. Maybe I shouldn't judge all MW by that one sample

Pre-shave:- Shower
Brush:- ZENITH unbleached bristle olive wood handle 506U XSE
Soap:- Dr Jon's Classic Shaving Soap
Razors: RazoRock - Lupo 95
Blade:- Gillette Minora (3)
Aftershave:- Dr Jon's Classic Aftershave Lotion

Dr Jon's provided a beautiful slick lather. The scent is far from other classic barbershop scents and more like a splash of Vick's Vaporub - One for Da Menth Heads
Lupo dialed-in an found the sweet spot

Push through the burn, no pain no gain.

Seriously, try the soap again, you maybe surprised on the second attempt that your skin sensitivity to the offending component has been desensitised. This has happened many times to myself.

Too late. I've smeared it over the trunk of a medlar tree that the possums were attacking. I've found that a few of the dud soaps I've tried were good for that. The best, by far, was Stirling Autumn Glory. One sniff of that was enough for me, and it obviously had the same effect on the critters. I should probably buy a tub of it just for that.
