The difference in weight is a lot more than 5g. My SS version is 94g, over twice the weight of your Ti razor at 44.5g. Mine is still a lightweight though, especially as it's so nicely balanced.

I'll be interested to find out if the Ti razor really gives a smoother shave. Maybe the opportunity will arise next year...
I'm not sure where I saw it mentioned that very little weight difference betwen Vectors but glad to be corrected.
I can't say I've heard Shane remark about any difference between versions but he does state that of his picks he goes for Titanium as a smoother shave, especially the Blackbirds as the material isn't as rough.
Who knows I might look at adding a SS next year as a spare/travel razor as prefer heavier razors but then again the Ti version is as light as a cart but shaves super close that I only started noticing even regrowth 12+ hrs later...

Pre: Hot Shower
Brush: Blue Devil Huon Pine with Yaqi Tuxedo Knot
Soap: Blue Devil Peach & Pear
Razor: Razorock Lupo 95
Blade: Dorco ST-301 (1)
Post: The Ordinary Glycolic Acid Toner, Nivea Skin & Stubble

No surprises with the soap; as always, Blue Devil is easy to dial in the lather and gives great performance. Loved the scent from the jar but kind of lost it during lather and brushing on face but it could be due to the Huon pine scent overtaking. And also the humidity from the wifey showering (minds out of the gutter gents; it's strictly for efficient use of time and space). But a warmed up razor and the scent subtly comes out during strokes. Back to the brush. Lovely piece of wood. The shorter knot doesnt impede performance. It has a decent backbone and loads well. The size and shape of the handle makes it an overall balanced handler with an easy natural grip. Love the laser etched logo and details on the handle bottom.

Pre-shave: Hot shower
Brush: Vintage butterscotch Hoffritz branded Simpson shaving brush
Soap/Cream: Declaration Grooming / Chatillon Lux Unconditional Surrender shaving soap
Razor: Muhle R95 Rocca Birch Bark handle
Blade: Polsilver 'Brown' (6)
Post-shave: Declaration Grooming / Chatillon Lux Unconditional Surrender splash
Fragrance: Declaration Grooming / Chatillon Lux Unconditional Surrender EDT

Off to spend a day doing some board PD!

For the past few months I have been having difficulty in determining my favourite 6/8 SR to shave with. It has been a toss up between my 1870's George Butler "Shakespeare" with ivory scales and my Revisor 6-0035 with Bocote timber scales. Over the past 6 days I have been alternating between the two (3 shaves each) to try and put this dilemma behind me. Each shave was identical in pre-shave, soap, brush and post shave blade maintenance.

The winner, by a whisker or two, was the Revisor. With first two days, it was the Butler. Over the last four days, it was the Revisor. The difference was in performing the fool's pass.

Both SR's have now been given a polish with Renaissance wax and put away. Staring tomorrow, I will be trying a new 6/8 SR. More to come.

Pre-shave: Hot water, Pears soap
Brush: Forgotten Art "Southern Skies" 30mm Snow Leopard
Soap: Castle Forbes Lavender
Razor: Blackland Vector
Blade: Kai PINK (1)
Post-shave: Shower, homebrew moisturiser, La Roche-Posay Anthelios SPF50+, Oxford & Cambridge Cologne
COTD: Monsoon Malabar, India

I think I've mentioned my struggle to find a preference between the PINK and Proline blades, and eventually landed on the latter since they're so smooth. Today's shave has thrown that up in the air again, as the Kai blade sliced through the Fool's Pass much better (ie a sharper edge) and left me with such an easy DBS. Looks like I'll just have to get bulk quantities of both...:banghead:

When you use the Pears as preshave, do you rinse it off before lathering with the shaving soap or do you lather on top of it?

I rinse it off with a hot flannel (washcloth). I have tried lathering on top of the soap, but it detracted from the slickness of the lather. Having said that, I went for many years (20+?) just using the Pears as my only shave soap. If you don't need any cushion, it works surprisingly well.

I wash my face with Pears Transparent (India) then thoroughly rinse it all off before face lathering. I have not tried leaving it on. I did once try shaving using the Pears soap for lathering. It didn't work, not even for one WTG pass. I quickly rinsed it off and went back to my beloved ARKO stick.

I don’t have any issues with Pears using as a shaving soap, YMMV, because everybody is different.

I quickly rinsed it off and went back to my bel

Do I smell piss coming so far away from your bathroom.

R41
Gillette Minora
Omega 11137 Boar
Castle Forbes Lavender
La Violetta Splash

Big thanks to @Gargravarr for the lavender sample pack, really appreciate it and wow!! what an amazing scent. Dont usually shave on the weekends as I give my skin a break, but could not resist trying this soap. Once i started building the lather the scent really jumped out at me.... so good!!!

Dont think I hit the mark with the lather but pretty good for a first attempt and it was tested with the R41 which gave me no issue at all..

The LaVioletta would have to be my favorite scent out of every one i have in the Den, cant say enough about the lavender goodness of this scent.. I really hope APR start up business again and bring this one out.

If you like the Castle Forbes, there's a good chance you might like Whispers From The Woods Lavande. It's got a fantastic scent, but I found it dried out my skin just a little, so I moved it on, but I reckon my current post-shave routine would easily take care of that. So I reckon I didn't give it a fair trial, and I'm thinking I'll give it another go next year, as she's an Australian producer who deserves support.

Pre-shave: Shower
Brush: DublDuck 4" Boar
Razor:- Dubl Duck Goldedge
Soap:- TABAC Original Tallow base
Aftershave:- Santa Maria Del Fiore Lozione Dopo-Barba By RazoRock

Have been wanting to try one of these long bristled DublDuck Boars ever since I got the matching straight from @miner
If you dont like the floppy noodle effect of a well broken in boar this is not for you. Personally I dont mind because it still produced an awesome lather
Been "tea total" for 31 years but I still like a beer or two after mowing the lawn
DOTD freezing cold Coopers Ultra Light Birell from ColesWorth

sorry mate but have to say I’m truly disappointed in that ‘ultra’ light beer, that goes for any light beer but especially a ‘ultra’ light one 😁

I like my tea too but on my 6th full strength atm 🍺👍😁🍻
