You really need a different soap in your life, besides living in a complete Lavender world @Gargravarr

SOTD – 9 JUN 2022

Aussie Wednesday shave on Thursday, features Blue Devil Shave Co.- “Lust”, sensitive skin (mild scent strength) Tallow based Formula. Blue Devil soap uses only Essential Oils for scenting and Lust scent described as: “Lust is a Rose Geranium scented soap with a little bit of sweetness to it. Profile: Rose, Geranium, Patchouli and Vanilla.” Blue Devil soaps are currently on discount, so good time to stock up.

Shave Result: For me Blue Devil is a Top Tier soap base for lather and performance. The half teaspoon scoop of soap quickly produced a rich and creamy lather even with my new Boar brush, not quite fully broken in yet. Scent was a pleasant Rose floral aroma with a touch of sweetness, scent strength was 6/10. First time trying the Kai Pink Mild blade in the Hawk V2 and blade felt sharp and smooth throughout, for me this is a nice blade in the Hawk. Overall a excellent DFS, with no irritations.

Prep: Country Life Tallow/Lanolin/Glycerin Soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: Paladin Lava Flow Select Badger
Razor: Wolfman WR1
Soap: Declaration Grooming Massacre of the Innocents
Blade: Vintage NOS Personna P74 (25)
Post: Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel, Declaration Grooming Massacre of the Innocents Aftershave Lotion
Scent: Pinaud Clubman Special Reserve Cologne

I really enjoy the scent of Massacre of the Innocents - just right for chilly Perth evenings. The tobacco scent lingers in the bathroom long after the shave.
Well, the vintage Personna P74 blade is still shaving beautifully on its 25th outing. The performance of these blades really do hold up to their reputation. I feel I could easily stretch it out for another couple of weeks, but I am getting impatient to switch to another blade for variety .

Nice colour and pattern on the Paladin @TomG don't see too many of them

Unfortunately Thursday and Friday's shaves were hardly worth the post.
Cloud and Progress or Apollo are not combinations I will bother with again.
Cloud definitely performs better in heavier razors Timeless, Wolfman, H&S No. 75

Todays shave made up for it.
After an initial failed attempt at peening and discussing with @Blackie I finally got his GGrand Dad's Wellmann scales stabilized, blade polished, honed and peened
The failed attempt at peening was beginners error because I was tapping too hard and impatiently but also because the hole was not drilled as @Blackie kindly pointed out in a blade of this age it would have been punched through while the metal was red hot therefore it was square and larger than the pins. I put a little copper sleeve in there and practiced peening on a blank before attempting the Welmann and here is the end product.
The blade took a lovely edge and provided 3 x WTG=DFS+ the shave would have been better if I had showered beforehand and been more relaxed.
