Aussie Wednesday shave features a 100yo soap sample sent to me by Doug at “Shaving Downunder”, a shaving stick by the name of “RA-TO” that came in a tube believed to be made in Melbourne.

Shave Result: As a 100yo soap “RA-TO” was hard and dry, so I placed half the sample in my lather bowl with a bit of water to bloom for about 20mins. I was only able to produce a low density lather that dissipated during the shave, however, it did provide decent slickness and residual. As you would expect from a 100yo soap there was no scent, so I added about 8 drops of Cool Water scent oil.Overall a great DFS, with no irritations.

I swear Maseto are the best economy badger brush available. Handles may be plain in colour but are of good shape and ergonomic and the knots are exceptional for the price.

I haven't been posting much here for a little while, and that's mainly because I've been steadily killing this tub of soap. Not because I'm in a hurry to lose it (I have a backup), but the cupboard under the washbasin with stuff in current circulation is a bit congested. The G5A knot is a brutal muncher of soaps, far more so than the G5C. No way is it ever going anywhere near my "precioussss" Yardley.

Another 5 days growth shave for me, which is quite significant for me. Decided to give this setup a good test with minimal prep.. No shower, no trimming, just a light splash of warm water on the face before the shave. Have to say this is an incredibly smooth and efficient combo. Started with a WTG on the upper face, which was so smooth I tried a full ATG on the neck on first pass.. wow!! no tugging, just a smooth efficient pass.. and this scent is just amazing.

I'll have to grab the LUST balm and Lavender splash when available... @CraigE any idea when stocks may be available?
