Preshave: cold water
Brush: Simpson The Duke 2 Best Badger
Soap: Shaver Heaven 1st Anniversary
Blade: kamisori but I can't read Japanese especially really tiny Japanese. Does the size make a difference? Probably not but just coving my lack of edumacation
Postshave: cold water & alam block

The Duke is a big brush that makes a big & thick lather. I really appreciate the lather of all Shaver Heaven soaps but this particular soap lacks the earthy, manly scents that I like. Scent is "nice" but I don't want "noice", I want Vertiver, tobacco, leather, busted teeth & bruised knuckles, machinery oil scents. You get the picture. A quality soap however, just the user's nose is the issue. The kamisori; yeah, it goes alright but the tiny handle is an issue. I'm a two-handed straight user and scales allow a decent grip. With a small piece of metal to grip and using only one hand, my grip appears too loose and against the grain, the blade skips and hops. Grip too loose? Edge needs a hone? Possibly a bit of both. All-around enjoyable shave however.

That's actually a brilliant idea. Or at least potentially so. I'm not familiar with any of those artists or tracks, but I soon will be. How do you feel about the scent? I have yet to find a B&M scent that I'd keep, but if it's concocted by SM that could change.

I like it, it feels like a scent you would want to wear going out on a summer night. It opens very sweet with plum and yuzu, maybe some kind of booze. The hot neon light thing - yeah, there is something there - hard to describe it. Wish I could try the EDT.

I have noticed that you have had a bad run with Barrister and Mann.
I've had a similar feeling with Stirling - the scents are just not hitting quite right for me.
Finally got around to try out Bergamont Lavender tonight, it was ok, but a little bit too plain for me

I've very nearly got through 3 tubs of the stuff, and I'm beginning to feel the same way. I won't dwell on that too much though, as I still have another tub in reserve. Any scent that I can live with is a bonus for me. Most get rejected from the get-go. Your B&M sounds like it might be worth scoping out a sample if it's available from anywhere.

R41
Minora
Olypiakos 24mm 2-Band Badger from TroyCraft
Cheshire
Lust

The R41 was long overdue for a shave so took it for a spin and did not disappoint.. Plenty of blade feel but provides a nice smooth shave when riding the cap

@Gargravarr noticed you used the towel on the face so gave it a go myself, just wet the face towel and microwaved it.. Was nice and warm when I applied it to the face, but then I opened it up and reapplied without testing the waters, was way to hot and left the face quite red.. not the best way to start a R41 shave but in the end all was well, must of been the healing power of @CraigE splash

Ooh.
It never occurred to me that anyone might do that. I just fill up the washbasin with water as hot as I can stand (sometimes with a bit of assistance from the kettle) and use that.

I fill my sink with boiling water and soak my face towel. By the time I'm out of the shower and dried, the water is still hot but just right for applying the towel.

I did make one mistake that I'll never repeat. I created my lather before I showered and sat my Captain's Choice copper bowl in the boiling water to heat. Needless to say, I pretty much tattooed the Captain's Choice logo into the palm of my hand when I picked it up :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

now there is an idea for a thread - worst mistakes shaving!

SOTD – Wed 13 JUL 2022
Aussie Wednesday shave with WashPool Supply Co.- Unscented Soap Puck [03], a natural Tallow base soap without Palm oil products. This soap has a short ingredient list: “Saponified Tallow (hand-rendered, local), Organic Cacao Butter, Organic Shea Butter, Organic Virgin Coconut Oil, Lanolin, Castor Oil”. The soap is a firm and comes as 80g pucks wrapped in paper for AU$8.50 which equates“Awesome” Bang-for-Buck value. The soap also comes as a softer soap in 180gm tubs for $AU$18.00.
Also featured in this shave is a fragrance oil added to the lather, GumLeaf Fragrance - Australian Bush: “A Classic aroma of the Australian bush with eucalyptus & wildflower.”

Shave Result: WashPool puck is quite pliable so easy to slice a small portion off (about 2.3gm) and squashed it into the bottom of my lathering bowl before proceeding with my normal bowl lathering procedure.I added 8drops of scent oil during the lather build, I also added some Proraso White cream to boost the lather a bit, because I rate WashPool a Tier 3 performer (serviceable). Lather produced a lovely creamy, medium dense lather with good volume. The scent smells like walking through the Australian gum tree forest in spring. The Twig SE is an easy going medium to mild razor for me. Overall a wonderful smooth close DFS.
