This week I will be working my way through a seven-day set of T.R. Cadman "Bengall" SR's. The first four are ⅝ and the last three are ¾, all Dutch points and dressed in their original scales.

These SR's range in ago from pre 1924 to the late 1930's. One, a ¾, has a small piece broken off one of the scales near the pivot pin. It doesn't affect the use of the razor but I have a spare set of replacement original scales for this blade, just in case.

I will try and stay with Proraso green cream for face lathering.

The RazoRock SS Hawk V3 really delivers on this occasion. The Feather Super Professional blade (shave 3) has been tamed slightly and has the perfect level of bite. Enjoying this razor immensely. The Cade balm feels so beautifully buttery.
Happy Monday to all.
I hope you have an armed guard for your unobtainium Valobra :p

Pre-shave: Hot water, Pears soap
Brush: Forgotten Art "Tarkine" piggy-wig
Soap: Yaqi - Lemon Lime & Cedarwood sample - Thanks @Wilkshire13(y)
Razor: Blackland Vector
Blade: Schick Proline
Post-shave: Shower, homebrew moisturiser, Avène Sunscreen Aqua-Fluid SPF50+
COTD: Mandheling Sumatra

I believe Yaqi do say (in small print) on the label for this soap that it's mentholated, but I was unprepared for this arctic chill. :cold: They must be doing something right though, this was about the quickest BBS I've ever had. I think if I were living back in Perth again, I could really get used to this, but here in TAS it's great for reminding me that there are other things than lavender. Now I think I'll go sit under a blanket in the sun for a while...

BTW, wrapping samples in baking paper before putting them in a ziplock bag is a great idea @Wilkshire13, it makes it much easier to get it out without wastage. (y)

I bought that in Rome in 2014 along with the brush! It’s probably still got 90-95% of the soap in it. It’s a beautiful soap! My only one. Pictures from that time…including the motherlode of Omega brushes

Wow, what a lot of brushes. Must be nearly as many as in @klinker's collection ;)

Had to chuckle at those monsters on the bottom shelf. They must be for using up those 1kg blocks of Cella :p

A follow up head shave
  • Prep: Hot Splash
  • Razor: Razorock – Lupo Aluminium
  • Blade: Merkur Super Platinum
  • Brush: Yaqi – Lucky Dice
  • Lather: Ariana & Evans – Strawberry Fields
  • Post-shave: Proraso – Alum Block
This morning was the followup head shave to last nights face shave.

I decided to switch things up for the head shave. A different soap, Strawberry Fields, from Ariana & Evans to go with a new regimen of shaving regularly. Having shaved twice in two days, I really enjoy the process of building a lather and filling the bathroom with the scent of shaving soaps.

Back to my Lupo razor for the head shave. Not sure I’m ready for a more aggressive razor up top just yet. I think I may have tripped upon a new technique on the first pass to help when I forego shaving for a week or so. I’ll have to give it a try next time, but hopefully not with over a week’s worth of growth.

A few little nicks, but I find that to be the case with an older used blade (>3 shaves), as well as when the hair is longer (>5 days of growth) and I need a few extra strokes in some areas. Hopefully a new regular (twice week minimum) regime will help with that (and technique of course).
