Where is the LPL? I'm getting withdrawal from not seeing it

SOTD – Wed 16 Mar2022
Aussie Wednesday with WashPool Soaperie– #01 Bergamot, Patchouli & Cedarwood. WashPool is a family run business and the family live on a off-grid about 8km from the tiny township of Ballandean, a rural town in the Southern Downs Region of Queensland. WashPool have been soap making since 2009, using all natural ingredients with hand-rendered (by WashPool) tallow from local, organic, grass-fed stock. No Palm oil products are used. WashPool shave soap is very economical and comes in 180gm tubs or as a 80gm firm soap puck form (paper wrapped), which is what I prefer to use.

🎥 Shave VIDEO 🎥

Shave Result: I sliced off about 2gms of soap from the firm puck and squashed it into the bottom of the bowl. Generated a lovely shiny creamy lather of medium density. The lather from the WashPool soap was well hydrated and performance was great without excelling in any area, a great economical soap that does the job, certainly a value soap worth trying. Scent is a very pleasant woody lemon aroma, scent strength 6/10. The Merkur 34c gave a smooth clean shave with the RK Stainless blade, overall a great DFS with zero irritations.

An excellent shave
a brush most psychedelic
the hair is gone now

This morning I noticed that my nostril and ear hairs needed a trim-back. For this reason I chose my most favoured SR that is also great for shaving those hard-to-reach spots.

Razor Gold Dollar W59, 6/8, full-hollow, Spanish point, dressed in African Blackwood scales and maintained on 0.1μm pasted hanging balsa.

Lather Palmolive cream faced lathered using a generic Chinese synthetic brush.

Result DFS+ except in the nostrils and ear canals (SAS only, I need to work on my technique there).

Pre-shave: Hot water, Pears soap
Brush: CaYuen "Copper Ore" 30mm Boss
Soap: Wholly Kaw for WCS - La Superieure Lavender
Razor: Alpha Claymore Evolution
Blade: Kai PINK
Post-shave: Shower, homebrew moisturiser, La Roche-Posay Anthelios SPF50+, Stirling Bergamot Lavender EDT
COTD: Hamasil Village, Yemen

...and again.

Not as bad as the withdrawal I was getting from not rotating through soaps.
At the end of 2 months constant use I collapsed edges into the donut hole and there is still about 1/2 tub left ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I clearly should have charged more when I sold it - there is SOOOOOOO many shaves left!

I don't recall the Wolfman being so much more efficient than GC&Lupo but it has been a while since BBS on single pass

Pre-shave: Cold shower
Brush: Zenith Silvertip
Soap: Antiga Barbearosa
Razor: Mergress XL (first shave)
Blade: Wizamet (1)
Aftershave: Windrose alum, Zingari ‘The Explorer’ balm

The (used) Mergress arrived with the red alignment dot above the 5 numeral so I had to dismantle the razor, and twiddle with the handle to line the 1 numeral with the red dot. Not a big deal though. It shaves very nicely on 3….I was quite impressed. Not much acoustic feedback or blade feel. I haven’t quite figured out the best angle or setting as the shave wasn’t as close as my Lupo, Karve C or Gamechanger.

The handle seems very slippery if there’s any soap on it so I wrapped some rubber bands around it.:unsure::unsure:
