Razor: Feather Artist Club SS Folding
Blade: Feather ProGuard (2)
Post-shave: Alum Block, Nivea Aftershave Balm and some of the Missus' face stuff.
Coffee: Natural Ethiopian “Tega & Tula” from b3 Coffee

Much better shave today with the SS, think I got the angle right there was no tugging or scraping just a nice smooth glide. Still having difficulties around the chin/neck cross over that I had to touch up with my DE, but still making progress so I'm happy.

Wonderful slickness from the blue devil soap, must try with a straight razor. Nice citrus scent reminiscent of lemon myrtle
The Karve "D" may be a little aggressive for the wet season. I think Karve is the only razor I have used where the SB is more aggressive than OC.
Luckily I have plenty of vintage brass razors to pair with Troycraft bold'as'brass

Pre-shave: Hot water, Pears soap
Brush: Yaqi Rainbow Pony
Soap: Stirling Bergamot Lavender
Razor: Blackland Vector
Blade: Schick Proline
Post-shave: Shower, La Roche-Posay Hyalu B5 and Anthelios SPF50+, Oxford & Cambridge cologne

Stirling is always a thirsty soap, but I'm finding with this harder(?) water, it needs a whole lot more. I'm used to adjusting the hydration of my lather by sprinkling a few drops into my brush, but here I find I have to actually dip my brush in the washbasin. I can't believe it's taking me this long to readjust to what I was raised with...

Is the Era all it's cracked up to be? Did you get the Level 5 SB too?
Sort of, and yes. Era is a good shaver for the money, but for me, Level 5 plates are the only truly efficient ones. And yes, I have both SB and OC. The latter is only slightly more efficient than the former and not quite as smooth.

Sometimes a smoother shave leaves me with a better shave than a more efficient one. For some reason the water I'm using here is making the Vector quite fiercely efficient, so I don't feel so inclined to spend the extra time to get a true BBS. Lately I've been wondering if I should have brought the Sabre with me.

That's a really interesting observation that just adds another factor to the good old "YMMV". Covid permitting, I'm going to be travelling to a few different spots in NSW soon and this concept has given me extra material to observe whilst shaving, to see if there's any noticeable difference when I get to use something other than Adelaide's infamously hard water.

Pre-shave: Hot Towel
Razor: DOVO Diamant
Brush: Dscosmetic with OUMO Smokey Grey knot
Soap/Cream: Declaration Grooming Puzzle
Post-shave: Declaration Grooming Puzzle

Big thanks to Markyv for posting the soap to me quickly. This was my first time with a DG product and was I quite impressed with it. I'm a big Barrister & Mann fan and I found it very similar to their soap.

Funny, I had completely forgotten about Adelaide water. OK, it was 11 years ago and I was up in the Adelaide Hills, so maybe my mileage varied. I suspect I've just got spoilt. There are times when I'd rather drink my mountain rainwater or springwater in preference to single malt whisky.
