Another super busy week and serves me right for being slack as looks like its been an equally productive week amongst the P&C Community.

Wishing @Gargravarr a belated Happy Birthday & @Mark1966 household a speedy recovery from Covid-19.

Congrats to the lucky guys who recently made some great additions to their dens: @tim33z, @Zeke, @MadFlava81, @Holiday & @Nanook with his Jurassic Park themed brush handle. Seriously dude, WTF!? Plus @SpeedyPC adding yet another soap brings a smile to my dial as he has way too many for any normal collection but YMMV and we all know he has major S.A.D. :censored:

Also nice to see @Errol mixing things up with the Weekly Razor Reviews & @TroyTools show casing his latest brush creations as some real lookers and appreciate seeing larger knot sizes on offer. (y)

To everybody else, Stay safe & Happy Shaves!

Well, it was a toss up between the Jurassic Park handle or the Storm Trooper one. I guess I'm just a nerd at heart 🤣

Great shave - not sure what style of head this razor cis based on. I think it could have a slightly wider top cap which might prevent some of what I think felt like blade chatter on my neck? But... Very pleasantly surprised by the combo, and love the soap - very nice.

SOTD – 7 MAY 2022

Saturday Shave with Oleo Soapworks (now called Chicago Grooming Co.) – BOYD (Canard base) discontinued, a Duck Fat and Kokum Butter based soap from Chicago. Boyd scent is described as: “A classic clean scent from a famous bird in our bathtub that we all know and love. Profile: Rose, Sandalwood, Lily of the Valley and White Florals.” The current retail price for the soap is USD18 per 4 oz jar or USD4.50/oz which is in the“Good” zone for my US Bang-For-Buck guide (based on IAMCDB chart).
Also featured in today’s shave is the Homelike Shaving AL Baikal which has 2 reversible plates numbered 1+3 and 2+4, that for me appear similar to RockWell.6c plates 2+6 and 4+8, although not a direct gap match. To me the AL Baikal is more of a refinement than a Rockwell clone: light (48gm); machined D16Т billet; horizontal blade alignment bars; small blade reveal; no blade overhang; cost AU$90 (Jan 2022).

Shave Result: The Oleo soap has a soft texture. This was the first shave using this soap, so I used a good half teaspoon scoop squashed into my lathering bowl. Used my standard lathering bowl lathering method to produce a rich, medium to high density, yogurt texture lather. Lather performance was excellent all round, this is a top performer IMO. For the scent I get a fresh Rose forward floral aroma that is reminiscent of arose petal potpourri, lather scent strength about 7/10. Had the Baikal on plate #2. Overall a mild, smooth, clean and irritation free DFS.

Can't someone slip a tuck of blades under your door? If your family won't even do that, they deserve to get COVID themselves.

They are the ones with COVID/Household contact - I'm trying to keep away from them!

My wife was still asleep so I couldn't try to get to my bathroom and get one and it was too cold to hear outside to the garage ;)

We need drones with shaving supplies!!

NOOOOOO, we most definitely do not - hate those Alphabet drones ;(

That's good, best wishes for all. (y)

Now go get that shave, we can't have scruffy faced moderators making us look bad! :ROFLMAO:

Thanks mate, and new Polsilver brown loaded for the morning!

I'm staying with my birthday setup for the weekend. I don't have any explanation for this, but I always seem to achieve a long-lasting BBS much more easily with the best of my hard milled soaps than l do with artisan products. Go figure. One day, I might kick myself for being so gung-ho with using up the Yardley, but probably not. I'm happy to live in the moment, and if that moment includes Yardley shaving soap, then my cup runneth over.

Put the splash on and no real sting, thought to myself 'Isn't Bay Rum meant to burn', then it came!!!

Belated Happy Birthday @Gargravarr
