That is a very nice finish on your new Konsul. How does it compare to your Ambassador?

Good to be back. Some of the more heavily chlorinated water on the North Island was beginning to play hell with my skin, which settled down straight away with our rainwater.

I wouldn't know about dam water, ours is just pure mountain rain water collected from our roof. As for hippies, there was a time when I probably was one, but now I'm 60 I occasionally have to at least pretend to be grown-up.

Incidentally, I got back to the usual flurry of junk mail, but amongst the pile was a little letter from ANZ informing me that now I'm officially a geriatric dotard, they aren't charging me monthly service fees anymore. Silver linings...

I have finally got to use this Empire with an original sharp blade thanks to @bald as .
For anyone unfamiliar with the Empire it is like a cross between an Auto-Strop and a tank. A solid built razor with the adjustable roller guard. Great shave

This soap is so named after a WWII operation codenamed “Chastise”, which was a daring low attitude (60 ft) attack on 3 dams in the industrial centre of Germany carried out on 16–17 May 1943 by Royal Air Force No. 617 Squadron, later known as "The Dam Busters". Members of the Squadron included British, Australian, New Zealand and Canadian aircrew.

Shave Result: Squadron soaps are a sentimental favourite for me, they were the first Artisan in my collection. Squadron makes lovely rich lather with excellent all round performance. For me the scent is a light bright very enjoyable cologne type scent, a complex blend with lots of subtle scents coming through as suggested by the scent profile, although a mild scent strength 4/10. The Overlander is my top performing DE razor and it went well with the mild Lord Cool blade.
