Spoiling myself this morning with some favourite gear as consolation for getting danger close to 60 (58). I was looking for my Drachenblut soap to go with the Sangre De Drago but couldn’t find it. Beautiful shave. :)
We like to do big breakys for birthdays and Mothers Day so maybe an XL breakfast is in order. :) I’m thinking maple bacon and coffee. I think Mrs Pbgoose is thinking coffee and fruit mix (a blended creamy with rolled oats, almost smoothie). So, off to the kitchen.

I’m told that when you’re 60, it’s means Old Fart. And when you’re 70 it’s means Grumpy Old Farts, then when you’re 80 it’s means Cranky Grumpy Old Farts, and finally when you’re 90 it’s means Sleepy Old Farts.

I'm still on the camping trip at the moment, so I'm doing meals just a bit simpler, but last year I tried out a famous Canuckois dish for my brekky (yes, I cook all the breakfasts in our household): Oefs à sirop d'erable on fresh warm bread - eggs fried in maple syrup instead of butter. Not something I would do every day by any means, but definitely a sumptuous change. (y) The coffee goes without saying... :)

The General is my most reliable shave. Almost can’t go wrong.
Reoiled the deck yesterday. Anybody got any preferences for decking oil? The builder used Intergrain Ultradeck. I went over the top of that with Sikkens yesterday. Feast and Watson gets a reasonable wrap on forums and is half the price of Sikkens. I was pretty happy with how Sikkens went on.
And the Javelot? That was my birthday gift from Mrs Pbgoose. That thing is awesome. I got the rifle mounting kit and case with it. Looking forward to trying it out. Looks like it will easily light out to 200m for a shot.
