What do you have in the post right now?

Other than Fig & Vanilla, she doesn't do a soap that leaps out at me to try.

Dama de Noche is fantastic and I also like Fauno a lot - very nice for the warmer weather, she is cooking the next batch of Dama de Noche in a week then it needs to cure.

Nothing exciting today, re-stock of a staple spring/summer and continuing to get my Autumn/Winter ducks in a row.

Acqua di Parma Colonia 180ml
Acqua di Parma Colonia travel spray 30ml (Calf skin leather)
Acqua di Parma Colonia Leather Cologne Concentrée 100ml

What? No question about the spark plugs or sewing machine feet?
Spark Plugs as I service my vehicle.
They give better performance, economy and last longer than any other commercially available plug on the market.
They're the parent company for NGK.

Sewing machine feet as a gift for someone that uses a sewing machine and wanted them.

Bond NATO strap for an old beat around Seiko to test out this style of straps.
Be silly to not try it out for $6 delivered with spring pins included, as per the thread I posted elsewhere.

Watch, because fuck me, it's a LOT of watch for what I paid!

Same. If anyone in Aus is going to order, I'd be keen to jump in for a Fig :)

I put the performance of a soap in front of the scent always, the fragrance of a soap is so fleeting whereas the performance defines the shave.

Horses for courses though :)

I cannot use a soap that I despise the smell of. Love Manuel's soaps, but the Dama De Noche gave me headaches for example. L&L (can't remember the type but was incense) was overpowering while shaving but performance was fantastic. I shave to enjoy it. Why use a scent you don't enjoy :) Life's too short

I think there is a very big distinction between a soap that performs excellently with a fragrance that is not ideal, and a soap that performs excellently with a fragrance you despise, loathe or hate and I don't think I made the case for the latter at all in expressing my personal proclivity for soaps that perform over their fragrance component.

I was stating the fragrance of the soap is secondary to the performance of the soap in my book, it's a given that if the fragrance was despicable I would not use it however I don't think I have ever come across a soap that performs exceptionally (to me personally, to the standard of what I call exceptional) where the fragrance of it causes me to despise it per se. Very good soap making tends to go hand in hand with well crafted fragrances in the soaps I seek out, buy and use.

It's unfortunate Manuel's Dama De Noche gave you headaches, it may be some of the oils he uses for the base notes such as nagamothra, myrrh or nag champa - some or all of these were were also used in L&L's Harmony soap I believe. I had an acutely bad skin reaction to Razo Rocks XXX soaps, all of their series - not from the fragrance oils but from some of the compounds or levels of the compounds used in making their product. I experienced a similar reaction with some of Stirling's fragrances and or balms so I had to cease using them.

lol.. despise may have been an extreme word, but I certainly think that any implication you can't have both performance and scent is misleading. The other consideration is that you have a much better nose, and understanding of scents than most. So when reviewing a scent profile, your chance of selecting a scent to your liking is vastly higher :D

Just arrived from Maggards... the first of two Futur clones purchased a fortnight ago... the second will be from ebay. I will do a comparison when the ebay one arrives. I cannot believe the quality finish of this razor! I shaved earlier today before it arrived so can't test the shave quality of the clone yet. Certainly looks like a top-class razor, though!

Look forward to hearing your thoughts, I have few bubs in the US with them - a couple said great shaves while others said blade alignment was an issue so I am curious.
