Where’s your snake bite aftershave splash to keep your face cooler?

Have been contemplating getting the splash. I suspect it maybe to much for me.

y'all ya boar lubbers got me thinking I need to try a better ham brush... They all seem a bit scritchy/scrubby to me

What? Too much menthol for you Fred, because you’re worried about snake bite aftershave might turn your whole head end up like this.

This could be a good representation. I will be heading down to Antarctica next week. I will try to post SOTD picks.

Prep: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap,Antica Barbieria Colla Almond Oil Pre-Shave Cream
Brush: Tony Forsyth P&C LE 2017 Platypus High Mountain White Badger
Soap: Scheermonnik Delfts Wit
Razor: UFO Tornado / Wolfman WR1
Blade: NOS Gillette Super Silver (1)
Post: Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel, Antica Barbieria Colla Almond Oil Balm
Scent: Christian Dior Fahrenheit

I find that the Wolfman head works wonderfully well with a light touch and a very sharp blade, and there are few sharper than the vintage Gillette Super Silver.
Very comfortable and efficient shave - a three day growth was scythed down in two passes to DFS+; a third ATG pass and I was absolutely BBS.

Mini-Review - Scheermonnik Delfts Wit

This soap is a light red/brown colour, and is the consistency of a firm 'croap'. The scent strength is mild to mid from the container, and remains so throughout the shave. The scent was immediately familiar to me, and had me searching my grey cells for the match. Then the penny dropped - Squadron Soaps. I went to the soap section of the den and dug out my Squadron soaps, and sure enough, it is very similar in colour and scent to Squadron Soaps 'Scramble'. A warm, approachable scent of woods and tonka, vanilla bourbon and allspice.
The soap is very easy to lather and reach correct shaving hydration levels, and creates an excellent yield of lather per portion of soap. On the first pass, I was struck by the slickness and razor glide - it was excellent. The residual slickness was also very good, and I was surprised to find that this is a non-tallow soap. Great job, Scheermonnik!
In summary, I really liked this product and would consider purchasing it. It has a nice scent, is easy to lather, and provides a lovely shaving experience. As my old pal Wim used to say - "If it ain't Dutch, it ain't much!"

Pre-shave: Hot Shower
Brush: Vintage, butterscotch Culmak shaving brush
Soap/Cream: APR General Ledger shaving soap
Razor: Replated Gillette NEW head on TSW Bren handle
Blade: Polsilver 'Brown' (4)
Post-shave: APR General Ledger splash
Fragrance: APR General Ledger EDP

Nice mini-review @TomG !

The General for me this morning, my last 'big' day for work. Meetings in Sydney and back to Canberra this afternoon to speak at a school presentation night this evening. You know that invited guest who is giving a speech while you are sitting there sweltering in the heat with a child who has received their award/done their part in the choir and just wants to go home? That will be me.

I wonder if I can interest them in the joys of tradition wet-shaving with a DE razor?

Heading home from last trip of the year. Arko's been fangin' around the bottom of the suitcase all year so thought it may as well be not for nothing.

You could store it in the sink overflow hole...
