Pre shave wash
Feather AC DX kami with Kai guarded blade (7)
Windsor Shaving soap
Proraso brush
Re-lather and cold rinse

I gave this soap one last try because I kept hearing about different ways required to treat veggie soap. I laid it on thick like a shave stick and loaded from the soap as well to keep it thick with lots of product, minimal agitation and slowly adding water, preventing the formation of bubbles. Lather looked good but still disappeared on my face during the shave. Then used a bit more agitation and water for the second pass and got a better lather that still disappeared during the pass. Then for the third pass I splayed the brush, using a lot of agitation to generate a light foam, which also disappeared.

So Windsor will not get another chance other than as a pre shave but I do feel the first method gave the best result and I should try slowly adding water with minimal agitation to get the best out of my veggie soaps... and lots of product of course.

I think that the general consensus is that Windsor 'shave' soap is rubbish

Mastro Livi CarboInox USA

Mastro Livi CarboInox will never stop amazing and charming me. First of all for the incredible performance in shaving, always giving a super smooth shave with a super cutting edge. Secondly, for the mesmerizing look Mastro Livi gives to his CarboInox blades. This one is a "simple" pattern with carbon steel plaques in the outer layers while the middle cutting layer is made of stainless steel. Then the scales of this beautiful straight razor. They are made of natural buckeye burl with a lovely insert of the USA flag made of coral (red) fossil mammoth ivory (white) and lapis lazuli (blue). A masterpiece or beautiful elegance with a great performance in shaving. When art meets craftsmanship. Excellent job, Mastro Livi!

Pre: Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: Savile Row 3824 Silvertip Badger
Cream: Kapo Fresh
Razor: Wilkinson Sword Sticky
Blade: Modern German Schick Premium (1)
Balm: Argo Neo Gold
EDP: APR Aqua Di Sydney

"When in Rome....." and all that.
On the road, and a little exploration proved very fruitful. The Kapo Fresh cream is top stuff - lathers like a champ, and has a fresh, clean fragrance and a touch of menthol. What really surprised me was the residual slickness, which I find lacking in most creams.
Three very comfortable passes with not a pinprick of claret for a DFS+. I thought the German-made Schick was very good; not quite as buttery smooth as the Wilkie Super Swords I've recently been using, but a good all-round performer.
I was a little dubious about applying the Argo Neo Gold aftershave balm, as I've become very accustomed to the consistent excellence of Myrsol Emulsion. No worries - it worked like a champ. Soothing and moisturizing - great stuff. The scent is more complex than the Kapo Shaving Cream - It had notes that reminded me of Tabac and Imperial Leather.
All up an outstanding shave.
But the kicker was the incredible value of these local products. I'll give a fuller analysis in the Aqcuisitions thread.

Brush: Omega Synthetic Hi-Brush
Soap: Proraso Green
Razor: FaTip Gold "Gentle"
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (1)
Lotion: Omega Alum Stick / Mennen Skin Bracer / Nivea Post Shave Balm

The FaTip Gold "Gentle" and the Gillette Silver Blue: a mild razor paired with a very sharp blade, a blade many say is sharper than the Feather. In any event, it was a DFS shave without incident with a razor FaTip says is all-brass, including its head. From what I've read, I believe these razors may become a cult item. If they are indeed entirely of plated brass, as marketed by FaTip, the Gold "Gentle" is a bargain at $35.

Went to the local track today (the Indianapolis Motor Speedway) for the time trials for the Indy 500. There was a vicious crash in turn 2, with a car going straight into the outside wall at 230 mph, ruining an otherwise pleasant afternoon. Fortunately, the driver (Sebastien Bourdais of France) is expected to fully recover.

Aftershave Splash: Australian Private Reserve 'Un côtelette de porc' splash

The King is Dead, Long Live the King!

Finished the second of my Squadron Soaps with a wonderful thick, glossy, drippy lather - outstanding!

Not sure what I will do tomorrow after using this combo pretty much all month. Hmmm, that will require some thought.

Have a good weekend guys

Happy birthday in advance @Maxime D. (y)(y)(y)

A dirty Fougère for a Monday, two passes, excellent!

I saw that on the news last night. The safety cage in those cars must really be something for a survival at that speed. It was bad on TV but in person must have been quite confronting.

Not sure what I will do tomorrow

Credit card, Express post and more Squadron soap. I saw the new container yesterday - looks good.

Razor : Colonial General with Stray Whisker handle
Blade: Feather Pro (4)
Soap: Ginger's Garden Fig N Rum + K Shave Worx Grapelitious Frankensoap
Brush: TF Ash and Gold Synthetic
Post: APR Coconut Sandalwood + Crabtree and Evelyn Sandalwood Cologne

Thoughts...
- A fresh and fruity shave to go with my rejuvenated stand. The sweet sandalwood is a nice change from my tobacco kick I've been on.

Brush: Shavemac Americana D01
Soap: Stirling Ozark Mountain
Razor: Gotta 120 5/8"
Strop: Kanayama
Post-shave: Barrister and Mann Cool Reserve A/S Splash

The Gotta is a newish (to me) razor and it has taken a wicked edge - it truly felt like I was just wiping lather off of my face. A lovely autumnal shave.

Pre: Nil
Brush: Shavemac 28mm 3 band silvertip D01
Soap: SH - Oatmeal Stout
Blade: Magnetic Platypus. 5/8 Full
Post: Barristers Reserve - Classic, Brut 33 Splash-on.

Thinking of my dear 'ol mum this morning so grabbed the razor she bought for me. It was struggling with my 2 day growth (strangely) so at the mid point of the first pass I did 20 laps on crox, 20 in linen, 20 on roo. That bought her back to where she should be and was smooth and efficient from there on in. ATG second pass to finish BBS with a lovely face feel.

Great pic! Now that sotd would of won the weekly banner yesterday (y)

@Snooze Coles slant looks stunning. Glad I saw it in the flesh last saturday at the meetup.

Good reason to go to meetups, great advice, ask as many questions as you like, smell new & old soaps and handle beautiful razors like Snoozes and Alfredus(es)!! :)
