reckon its got more to do with the razor than the person.. eg hated BICs and so far in rocca theyre excellent.. also the nacets, never got along with them but in the Lupo 72 there amazing
I definitely agree with this.

I have always felt it goes way beyond Individual razors and blades, skin and beard. It's all about the combination of all the pieces clicking together for the individual.

YMMV is becoming a cliche, and for good reason!

Being saying for years, all other things being equal, it is the razor and blade combination that is important.

You can shave my back @Mark1966

@StratMan how many razor blades do you now have specifically for the Rocca?
400 blades seems like a big buy when I thought you have hundreds of other blades you enjoy in the Rocca?

hey man.. yeah I have a shit ton of blades, well over 2500 now but specifically for the Rocca? Have to do a count to be sure but a good guestimate would include 400 Polsilver, 200 Wizamet, 400 Minora, 400 Bic and around 100 Gillette black and around 200 Gillette yellows.. but polsilver/wizamets/BIC is where the money is at... the pol/wiz also amazing for the WR2 so might save those for that one

it is a big buy, but I only paid $50 for 400 BIC's and that includes the shipping so couldnt resist.. only comes to 12c a blade and if they last much longer as per @nav1 comments, then even better

exactly.. the other thing is finally learning to make good lather.. you can have the 'best' combo of razor/blade but it counts for nothing if you dont get that nice slick lather

Yah, they've put nearly every other blade to shame.

I know gsb, nacet etc are highly regarded but a BIC in the progress has decimated all other blades in all metrics...sharpness, smoothness, longevity.

Hmmm I now wonder if 2700 BIC will be enough! LOL

Every time I think I go overboard with purchases I can always rely on someone on the gmail forum to make me feel better 😁👍

The way you're loving the BIC, perhaps you'll end up surpassing my grand total! 😄

Mail Call today + recent AC SE blade additions - Thanks Ausfarce!

Simpson's Trafalgar T3 Sovereign Fibre Synthetic & "SmokeScreen" brush handle turned by George from BillyGoat Brushworks.

Initial thoughts on the T3 is that it's smaller than I had anticipated but lives up to what I had hoped from Simpson as the faux ivory handle looks lovely and the knot feels soft with decent backbone against the palm.

My first BillyGoat Brushworks handle and another top local brush maker with plans to add a 26-28mm synthetic knot in either Yaqi G4 (similar to the T3 fibres???) or a Oumo/Lansky G5 synthetic to complete the brush...

BIC took a hit with the timeless 👎, but def a huge winner with the Rocca so I’m gonna try it in my other razors and see how they go

Thanks for the feedback with timeless.
I'll look forward to your experience with other razors.

I used a GSB, which I had laying around, in my progress and whilst it was a great shave, it was nowhere near the BIC as the "post-shave-shadow" was darker with the GSB.

my mate has a progress, i might just borrow his and test out the BIC in that

Funny thing with the Timeless was the WTG and XTG passes were actually quite good but I have to go ATG, cant do without it so has to be factored into the overall shave.. The ATG pass was quite rough and has left me patchy with the regrowth.. IMHO the best blade for the Timeless is a pol/wiza

I know you mentioned the rounded razors but will still give it a crack with the Lupo 72, as this razor has made a nacet and incredible blade and I didnt really think much of it before the lupo..

Arriving from Italian Barber in Canada today. It took a month due there being no flights out of Canada in October so no complaints.

The balm is lethal! Watch where you put those hands! I suggest stay far away from your eyes as possible unless you want the sensation of being maced!:D

I learnt the hard way!
