Shave of the Day 2014

That doesn't make much sense. If the rate of deterioration is a fraction of a standard blade you've basically defined an above average blade that per definition will last longer. In my case at least I've been trying really hard to find fault with it but I can't. It's been really disappointing, having to agree with all those sad blade freaks.

Never mind, I'm sure you'll find something to hate soon. You have bought stuff...

@borked got most of a tub of ice and a slice of you want to swap something? It's a bit softer than the sandalwood.
Will have to check later to give a %

I'd say a good 60% left

Brush: Vulfix #374 Super
Soap/Cream: Proraso Green
Razor: Fatboy (7)
Blade: "Vintage Vintage" Gold Wizamet Polsilver Super Stainless (4)
After-shave: Liberal application of Alum afterwards

I must say that I like these old Polsilvers. Still not as sharp as the PermaSharp Supers or Silver Blues, so the shave is not as close but there is no irritation either. The amazing thing - still performing well after 4 shaves with only some slight degradation where the more modern versions I throw after 4 shaves. Should be worth another 2 shaves at least.

For the price, they are quite a decent blade when compared to the pricing of the newer versions.

Brush: FS badger
Soap/Cream: Vitos Extra Super Cocco (HT @borked)
Razor: 38C
Blade: Personna [3]
After-shave: Myrsol Emulsion

The Vitos Sapone Per Barba or 'Vitos' was a sample traded from @borked. This sample was specifically the Vitos Extra Super shaving soap 'Al Profumo Di Cocco' made in Genova, Italy. It does have tallow, and perhaps some extra glycerine added after the soap-making process. I unceremoniously mashed it into the bottom of a tin. I'm not crazy about the scent (Coconut), but I am interested in how this traditional Italian croap would perform.

It quickly lathered up and provided lovely slipperiness. But I think it was the post-shave feel that I enjoyed the most. My skin felt good after the shave. Coconut is not my favourite scent, but it makes a change from the typical sweet almond/marzipan scent from most Italian soaps.

I only used a little Myrsol Emulsion (a thin balm). Lovely menthol cool and now simply soft, smooth skin. Once again, not a fan of the scent, but the feeling of my skin now is terrific.

OK girls and boys (and of course we mustn't exclude any of you who are still in the process of deciding) big moment here. I cannot paste and cut because I had a change. Finally did something different.

The brush: Same brush - wooden handle no markings - could be badger - could be boar - could be horse - could be human I have no idea (I don't even know where it came from).
The razor: The Slim on 7 what else would I want.
The blade: Slick Schick
Now the biggie
The Lather : TOBS shaving cream (purchased from @stillshunter so if you want all the technical shit ask him).

The shave - very good - The lather was - nice and yoghurty everything came off the way it should,

Aftershave - This is a direct quote so don't get twitchy with the language TOBS "Superb Gentleman's Aftershave" which seems appropriate as I am a Superb G'man.

Thanks Stills I will enjoy using this.

Next shave Proraso Red and I am sure you can all hardly wait.

.
Great news mate, I could not think of anyone more worthy of the title

Today was a Spieck day for me. This little chunk of goodness just keeps on going. Lavender goodness.

Two bits of stillsy love in one day. Yeah I'm feeling it!

Glad that little sliver lasted as long as it has and that you're enjoying it mate . Will you make the huge $8 commitment to join the ranks- you can choose whether you consider it membership to Club Speick or the anti-arko association.

Brush: Duke 2
Soap/Cream: Occams
Razor: R41
Blade: Personna [2]
After-shave: Floid

The R41, Occams & Floid are becoming fast and firm favourites. Seriously unsure why this razor gets such a bad rap. Nothing shaves as close.

Same as last - 2nd cold shave and it is getting better - seriously why did I ever bother with the whole hot towel etc. prep?
Enjoying the Weleda cream more and more - of course lathering Mikes can be very zen and is almost like a ritual but when you are traveling and want a quick but still perfect lather this stuff is hard to beat...and the RR stealth slant voskhod combo is simply a match made in heaven!

I'll consider the purchase a membership to both those groups! Next mensbiz purchase will include Spieck active cream. Gotta get a present for my dad soon (tobs eton tub) so it'll come with it (thanks dad, now hand over that Speick and no one gets hurt)

Great news mate I'll get your badge, with our mascot mailed out to you post arrival. So why the Activ?

Someone said it was a 'fresher' scent so I'm willing to take the gamble that that's a winning combination. I mean hey, it's not going to smell Turkish so what's the worst that can happen?

...or both? $8 for a schtick of Speick

Pretty much all I ever do. There are only about two months of the year when the weather/water is cold enough to warrant hot water here.
I tend to just shave while in the shower.
I will admit hot shaves with a mirror are ever so slightly more comfortable to do but you learn to feel your way around your face without the mirror.

Top work. A few more months and you'll be ready to join a shaving forum.
