Mr Shunter, there is only so much you can say when you are using such a long lived blade and changing none of the other variables.

Same travel set up: Vie-Long 12705B, RR SS V1, Weleda Cream - but tried Gillette super platinums I bought here locally - very nice and smooth blade. Let's see how the 2nd shave goes though...

Prep: face wash
Razor: dovo best straight
Stropping: 100 crox 200 leather, trying to make it a smoother shave
Brush: Pjotr milk churn
Soap: CADE
AS: isocole
ASB: jojoba oil

Been 2 weeks since a decent shave so enjoyed a cleansing, slow, very close shave.

Feels awesome!

Stop making me do all the hard work!

Brush: Virigina Sheng Synthetic
Soap/Cream: Speick
Razor: Progress
Blade: Voshkod [1]
After-shave: GFT Coral skin food

I'm down in Canberra for a week. First shave for a couple of days = wonderful!
Speick lathers a treat. The Skin food simply absorbs straight away into the skin.

Met the engaging Mr @stillshunter in person. A real treat.

Yep, so there we were continuing our online antics in person, face-to-face, in Canberra….

'Perfect' yes... But is there a little more 'perfect' setup out there?? [emoji11]

Pre-shave: Myrsol Antesol
Brush:
Duke 2
Soap/Cream: Shaver Heaven Forbidden Forest
Razor: Standard
Blade: Personna Blue
After-shave: Myrsol Antesol

I normally rest up over the weekend but I felt a little inspired, felt a little of that shaving spirit moving within me. This shave is dedicated to @filobiblic - as most items would be recognisable to him…well they ought to seeing as they are samples and loaners from his den. BIG THANKS MATE!

I've been curious about the Standard Razor for some time - and Filo was kind enough to let me give it a whirl. All those modern clean lines, like the Ikea of shaving, and yet folks liked it. Hmmm… Well I have to say in hand it is light and there's so little blade exposed or gaped that it looks and feels tame. I feared the handle would be too slippery so I used the old Alum Block trick. Loaded with a blade and to the face it whizzes around like its empty, like it has no edge, it feels tame. Now here I sit 10 minutes post-shave and I remain adamant that the Standard is tame. If folks want a better term then let's say "smooth"…oh and here's another one for you, "efficient". This razor does a damned fine job. I cannot believe it. I like it, I like it A LOT! I'm going to be interested in alternating the Standard and the Weber to see how they compare. Yep it's that good.

I need say little about the Myrsol Antesol except that I'm getting some. Definitely!

The Shaver Heaven cream needs a little more testing. It performed admirably on the first pass, full points on the glide, but I feel it lost some of its oomph after that. I am suspending judgement though as I think it might do well in a bowl.

Thanks again Filo….now let's talk offline about how much you need that Standard back hey? ;)
